Thanks dear Shub,

Then, what about this link,

Do you think this link is junk or wrong ?

on this link, please see " 8.1"

http://www.visajourn...ralization.html

8.1)...When can I apply for United States citizenship?

A...As a spouse of a US Citizen, you can apply for citizenship 3 (three) years after approval of your Adjustment of Status. Your approval may be noted via any of the following: approval notice (I-797), on your passport (I-551 stamp and date), your green card ("resident since" date). The 3 year countdown begins with that date. This 3 year period does not include long absences from the United States.

it seems that you made a mistake when you mentioned the approval notice was 12-2011. I think that was your initial notice ( Acceptance of filling). it seems you didn't go over the ROC because at the time of your GC approval you were married for more than 2 years. both of the notices are I797 but one for the initial filling and one for the approval. So, if you look at your GC you will have a resident since date which determine your eligibility for citizenship [ 3 years - 90 days of that date]. if my assumption is right then you will be eligible for Citizenship around December 2016

I'm not saying the VJ guide is good or bad, but I trust official resources (i.e. the USCIS website) above anything else.

What is the "resident since" date on your green card? Please look at your green card and share that date, if you don't mind.

It doesn't matter when you received your 10-year green card, if your adjustment of status from your K-1 visa was approved in December 2011, your green card should reflect that.

You guys gotta slow down and take it easy when you use word : FRUSTRATION, because I don't honestly think that word applies to your current situation. Being in oath scheduling que means that your case has not only being approved, but already finished, just the matter of time before you get scheduled for oath ceremony, which is a one way ticket, nothing can prevent it from happening. I understand if you get approved and don't hear anything after, that's a reason to be frustrated, but being already in que, really? I don't know about that one...

Well, here's my situation. My interview was scheduled on January 29th, received another notice saying that my interview was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, but regardless I went there. My A-file wasn't transferred from NBC, but officer still conducted my interview because my local office was kinda far from my house and I guess they felt bad for me. Nevertheless, officer conducted the test, I passed, went thought my application, went thought my documents and told me that he was gonna request my A-file and I was supposed to get a oath letter in mail. I waited for a month and 2 weeks since my interview and guess what I received instead of oath letter? ANOTHER INTERVIEW NOTICE!!! scheduled in April, so please guys be super careful when you use words like: frustrated, disaster, heartbreaking etc.. Just be happy with what you got already....

It's all about perspective, I suppose. Thank you for yours, Trooper. What a nightmare that it seems you have to go through another interview. Have you tried calling USCIS for more information? Maybe you can somehow talk to an officer about your interview on January 29, you may not need to sit through another round of tests.

Everyone has their own tolerance level. Other than me freaking out about certain things about my former marriage being brought up at my naturalization interview, everything went well. My mom, who submitted her N-400 in January 2014, is still waiting to be fingerprinted. She's scared that her application has been misplaced and we've reached out to USCIS about this but have been told to wait until March 24 and if we have not heard anything back then to call again.

We have to remember that although the immigration process in the United States seems to be run well, it is run by people who are buried in a ton of paper work. It is not an excuse to get every one of us 'frustrated' but I guess it's always good to look at the bigger picture. Focus on the positive (passing your tests and waiting for your oath as opposed to the thousands, if not millions of people who would die to be in your shoes right this minute) rather than the negative. Immigration is tough. Especially in this country. We are all testaments to this.

Wishing you luck, Trooper! Best of luck to the rest of you, too!

If only it were that simple.

We have travel plans that are in limbo as we wait day after day for this to be scheduled. My wife's parents are both elderly and her mother is quite ill, and we am planning to travel to visit them soon, but we cannot leave until she takes the oath for fear of being away when she is scheduled.

Further, I am planning on looking for employment overseas. I cannot do that until this damn oath ceremony takes place.

If I had time to kill it wouldn't matter. But I don't.

Trust me, I know the headache well. My mom needs to be in the Philippines, too, since her brother may not have very long to live. Calling and being told to call back in 30 days or so just for biometrics has made me want to pull all my hair out. God forbid that my uncle passes away before my mother gets to see him. In hindsight, we should have let mother fly back to the Philippines on her Filipino passport before filing her N-400.

I hope Infopass will help. I just dread those "Come back after (insert number of days here)" replies.

If only it were that simple.

I'm sorry to hear that. The whole immigration process here is absurd. Especially for a country with stagnant wages as a ####### economy. My wife doesn't mind it here. I was born here, and I pretty much can't stand it at this point. I don't recognize this country, particularly over the past dozen years.

Granted. I'm not being negative, I'm pretty positive after all. I called customer service when I got my second notice and requested a transfer to Tier 2 officer since they can't tell you much and after being put on hold for more than an hour IO's response was very promising. He said just wait and if oath letter comes before your interview date ,than go on oath ceremony. Word-to-word he told me " whichever comes first". There's not even a point for me to schedule infopass because most likely response will be the same, so I'm waiting for round 2..

Thank you for being so positive tho.

We'll I don't know about everyone but for me, with USCIS IT'S NOT DONE UNTIL ITS COMPLETELY DONE.

So even with my scheduled oath until I receive the letter, there will be days where I will be freaking out when I don't receive it. If people could adjust their schedules just easy then all this wouldn't matter but u think u have stuff to do and all this is holding you back, it gets frustrating. This is a very tedious process that you don't even want to reschedule anything as that can cause more delays. So hey I can understand You Trooper with your case as its nothing compared to being in a que waiting for an oath to be scheduled. I couldn't go through ur situation in silence tho..lol but hey everyone is different.
