I'm sorry to hear that. It's just crazy-making - Pittsburgh usually takes less than two weeks from the interview to schedule. Really sucks, all for a boring ceremony they once again have to put our lives on hold. Why can't they just swear everyone in day of interview, or at least set appointments? Bloody idiotic.

I don't know what I did wrong guys please help me if you can kindly, well I mailed my N400 to the dept of homeland security at 201 varick street #5 Ny, ny 10014 with my $680.00 cashiers Bank cheque and documents, does this mailing address sounds accurate to anyone? I googled the address and that's what it gave to me. Also I am currently out of the country on a get away trip in Canada at my husbands home because he is Canadian and I am a permenant US resident. I am trying to file for my US Citizenship so I can file for him to dwell with me in the USA. I got my green card through my dad he was a US citizen but he past away of Cancer in the heart on Jan-2014. It's Feb 2014 and I filled that N400 out and mailed it to the wrong dept I think but after mailing it I booked a flight to canada to get away please help, I can't afford a lawyer to do my paper work right now. I want to know what to do and where do I send the paper work to since I am from NYC. Thanks Lots and lots Xo??

The address you were supposed to send it to is in the instructions. That isn't it. Put a stop payment on that check, and resubmit the N400 to the correct address.

I personally thought the ceremony was meaningful. What the judge said was quite touching.

On another note, I submitted my application for my U.S. passport yesterday at the post office. I wasn't aware that they would actually keep the original naturalization certificate. The post office lady said they will send it back. So I won't be able to update my social security records until I get my certificate back.

That's good to know, thanks! I'll do the SSN update first and then apply for the passport.

Congrats to those who are done with this process. Still waiting for that oath letter to come in the mail.

One question guys, I need to make an emergency trip to my home country and will be there for about a week, Im still in queue waiting to be scheduled for oath for two weeks now since my interview was approved. Should I call USCIS and ask them? Who knows where I can check for oath ceremony schedule in Tennessee, either Memphis or Knoxville? Thanks y'all.

I wanted to point out that when you get your passport and certificate in the mail, they will be sent separately, possibly a few days apart. So don't worry if you get one without the other.

You can travel with your green card.

I was scheduled for the oath ceremony in the town where I live, not where I had my interview.

Not a problem! Yes, if I would have known I probably would have done SSN first. But there's no rush for that according to what the IO said at the oath.

Thanks. The post office lady did say that, but thanks for the heads up.
