Status just changed again. it now reads:

"On February 11, 2014, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283"

the waiting continues :)

I've been placed in line for interview since 16th January, 2014 almost a month now. I'm wondering why its taking long for the interview to be scheduled for Lewisville TX as I've not been scheduled yet.

Any idea as to why its taking this long.

I-130 Track:

May 20, 2013: I-130 Sent

May 22, 2013: Priority Date

May 28, 2013: NOA1 Received

Aug 08, 2013: NOA2 Approved

Aug 12, 2013: NOA2 Hard copy received

NVC Track:

Aug 26, 2013: NVC received file

Sept 05, 2013: NVC Case # and IIN assigned

Sept 09, 2013: DS-261 (Choice of Agent) completed online

Sept 10, 2013: Received AOS via email and paid ($88)

Sept 11, 2013: AOS ($88) shows paid on NVC

Sept 12, 2013: AOS Package sent to NVC, delivered (Sept 16, 2013) & AOS Package accepted (Oct 11, 2013)

Oct 07, 2013: Received IV Invoice and paid ($460), rejected and payment re-submitted (Oct 17, 2013)

Hi Jewelforlife, some offices take longer for their case loads to schedule for interviews etc. For example, I had my finger prints done December 5th, but my status did not change to in line for interview until January 10th, so that's well over a month. (reminder that I was eligible for naturalization over 10 years ago so there was no hold on waiting for that date) then it took two weeks of being in line for them to schedule my interview.

If you look at other months' filers time tables, some take more than 2 months to schedule interview after they are placed in line. So look around and see what the "normal" is for your field office.

Can someone update me?

Anyway shout outs to my updater as I rarely come on here and my laziness prevents me from updating lol

January 9 2014- my status changed to testing and review

Jan 12- I received interview letter for February 13 8:30 am sharp at Pittsburgh office

Anyway so I travelled and got back from my home country on the 12th praying my flight doesn't get cancelled or the weather doesn't just cause me delays. But I was fine I. The end.

I went for my interview and I passed. I did not submit any divorce decrees which I was worried about but I still wasnt asked. Not even a thing about my ex! I was stressed for nothing lol.

I can barely remember the 5 questions to post on here cos I was so nervous lol but had a happy ending for me.

There is an oath ceremony today in Pittsburgh and I asked the IO to put me on he went to do some findings and said it was too late. My interview took about 10 mins and I was out . So I wondered why he said its too late for that lol but anyway I could t fault him cos he was such a nice officer. His name was FINE! Anyway so officer FINE told me there is one on the 21st and he will try to put me on or then it's going to be in march. So Jon n Sol stop beating yourself to it by not asking him for the same day oath, cos from my experience it seems it wouldn't have worked anyway... ( just my 2 cents)

So now we know there's one today, the 21st and then march lets see which one they put us on.

Glad it went well! And thanks for the thought. What's eating me is that 12 days out from the interview and a week from being put in the oath queue, still nothing scheduled. I've looked back at all the timelines I could find, and it seems typically people are scheduled for the oath roughly a week after the interview, so this is making me really anxious. I just don't want a screw up right before the finish line, just want it over. Plus, we have travel plans that are on hold until this gets concluded. unsure.png

Got the generic, 'placed your application in the oath scheduling que' email today. Lets see when they actually schedule it.

eligibility Criteria: 3 years


10-14-2013: Eligibility Date


11-01-2013: Application Sent


11-04-2013: Application Received


11-04-2013: Priority Date


11-07-2013: Check/Money Order Cashed


11-13-2013: Bio-metric Letter sent Date


11-18-2013: Bio-metric Date (Walk in)


12-12-2013: In-line for Interview


01-02-2014: Interview Date Letter Received


02-05-2014: Interview


02-14-2014: Oath scheduling que


03-25-2014: Oath scheduled


03-28-2014: Oath Date Letter Received


04-24-2014: Oath Ceremony

I wanted to provide an update. I filed on November 18, 2013. Biometrics done on December 18, 2013. Interview was today (Feb 18, 2014). Funny how it landed on the 18th day each time!!!

I had my interview today in Kansas City, MO, and after about 15 minutes of answering questions about history and civics, passing the English reading and writing test, and verifying that all the information on my N400 was correct -- I passed!!! I am being recommended for naturalization and my oath taking ceremony is in two months!

The IO did not ask any questions about my divorce from my ex husband, other than verifying the fact that I am indeed a divorcee. I said yes and she moved on to the next questions.

I feel so relieved and I cannot thank everyone who I have talked to on VisaJourney.com enough. You have all been a great source of valuable information, strength and hope.

To everyone else still waiting for their naturalization, the finish line is close!!! Keep pushing forward!!!
