thanks!

Figured it out...it reads "Testing and Interview".

Any clue as to how long it takes from fingerprints to interview if my fingerprints were done on 11/29 and the case moved to "Testing and Interview" moved on 12/3?

It can vary from office to office but I was looking in the other threads and for Chicago seems to be between a month to a month a half. Meaning, the interview date may be about a month and a half after you got the fingerprints done. You also have to check that your status, besides Testing and Interview, it will say that you're in line to be scheduled. Once they set the date for the interview, it will changed to Scheduled and you'll get the notice with the time and date in the mail.

I have a question and should have asked this the first time I've posted. Here is my situation:

I got divorce in 2010 and filed for 10 year green card afterwards. I moved in with my bf, several months after I got divorce, and been living with him since. We've learned about my pregnancy last August and I became eligible to file for N-400 last November 2013. I filed for N-400 same month without thinking when will my interview gonna be. Now I am wondering if my pregnancy will be a problem during my interview since it is gonna be obvious. Just in general, will I have difficulty with my N-400 application? I have no criminal records nor traffic tickets since I got here in the US. Been working too as soon as I received my employment authorization.

Thanks and appreciate any input.

Your pregnancy/who you are living with has no bearing on your citizenship application or eligibility. I'm assuming you are filing under the 5 year rule, so your previous marriage has nothing to do with your N-400. The USCIS aren't morality police - no one cares who you are sleeping with or having kids with.

Yes I am applying under 5 year rule. That's what I thought too but just need more input because I also posted this question in other site and one lawyer said that I have to get representation. Thanks!

No problem! I think that lawyer was looking for some easy money.

This is what he said 'having a child out-of-wedlock to be a sign of poor moral character- a requirement of naturalization'. I am currently engaged with my bf and just don't want to be married right away just because I am pregnant.

That attorney is out of his mind.

Here's what the USCIS field manual says: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/ilink/docView/SLB/HTML/SLB/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-29/0-0-0-101/0-0-0-434.html#0-0-0-1191

Examples of not having good moral character would be being a habitual drunkard, deriving most of ones' income from gambling, or engaging in prostitution.

I think that attorney is either clueless, or hoping you are so you can pay for his next European vacation. rolleyes.gif

There are some references online to adultery being an issue, if it broke up a marriage, but that isn't relevant in your case. What's more, I'm not convinced that is even accurate, I don't see it in the USCIS field manual (which was recently revised).

I am a law school graduate, although I don't practice law. I am dead certain your pregnancy, your living arrangements, and/or the intersection of the two will have no negative effect on your naturalization application. Rest easy.

Best,

Jon

PS: The 'child out of wedlock' might have been an issue back at the dawn of time. Perhaps that attorney graduated law school in 1955. rofl.gif BTW, our son was born ~7 months before we were married.

Dear readers,

I'm concerned about the fingerprints, because I don't see any indications about the FP as we know that's expected after NOA but the online My Case Status is on "Initial Stage" (Acceptance is passed) You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. and NOA states that: Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office. Is that fusible like FB can be pre-done without visiting FB center?

Below are trigger statements from My Case Status and NOA

- What decision will be made to notify?

- Upon Receipt Required Record Checks stand for ....... FB ???

Can anyone put a spotlight on their statements please?

Regards

You received NOA yesterday, and you are 'concerned' because you haven't gotten the biometrics appointment yet? Guess what? You're never going to get the biometrics appointment within 24 hours of getting the NOA. Look at our timelines in this thread. That will give you some idea how long you can expect to wait. Off the top of my head, it's typically what, a week or two until you get the biometrics notice?

Hey Jon and Son,

Thanks much for an instant response. Sounds like there is a confusion, allow me to make it clarify that I wasn't anticipating the Biomatrics notice to be received simultaneously as I do study online threads based upon N-400 so this journey may take somewhere from 4-6 months (varies on each case and what not)

I was just being curios if I still have to go for FB or not, probably i misunderstood NOA verbiage saying that after "Required Record Checks" I'll be lined up for the interview and I was bit confused about white color NOA mail because I mostly have seen the Green color paper not a xeros copy !!! Hence I assumed that by passing FB (they may have my fingerprints already in their DB) sorry for the confusion though . . .

Stay Warm & Blessed :)

It's cool, sorry if I sounded too strong. The NOAs and biometrics notices are now on cheap paper, in an attempt to save 1/1000 of a cent, or something.

You should receive a biometrics email/text then notice sometime soon.

Best,

Jon
