I just called HCM to ask about the interview date and got, 'call back in late January,' from the lady. This is weird because 2 weeks ago I got, 'call back in late December.' I know there are others here that submitted packet 3 around the same time as I did(Nov. 15th), what has the consulate told you about when your interview date might be obtained? Just curious. I was really thinking, following others timelines, that my fiancee's interview would be in late Jan to early Feb, now I'm not too sure.

We received those same kind of approximation answers as well. Don't put too much stock into them.

My advice, and this is the method we used when going through HCMC, is to call once per week to inquire on the status of your case. The guesstimates given to you by Consulate staff can change from day-to-day and from person-to-person. The hardest part about this process is staying patient and not getting caught up in the roller coaster ride that it can take one on.

Good luck!

I went to the Consulate to submit Packet 3 on Nov 13, 2006.

- The first time: the staff at the Information Window said that I can come back after 2 months to know my interview schedule.

- Second time: On the last week, I came back (on Dec 14, 2006) and the other staff at the Information Window said that I will have the Interview schedule from 2 to 4 months.

The time unit here is not "week" but "month". It seems that they think our love is forever and we are the supermen and superwomen, who could live forever to wait for them.

The number is, (84-8)822-9433 extension: 4636. I wouldnt call for at least a month and a half after you submited packet 3, unless you feel lucky. It's been over a month for me and David and we still get nil from HCM.

HCMC Embassy recieved my packet 3 on 10.10.06 and to this date, still no interview date. i got my local congressman to help (if possible)

the waiting is just killing me.

i read some other time lines for HCMC and it seems that it seems to get longer (at least for me)

QUESTION: when does TET start and does the embassy close during that time?

Take care

David

I called that number but it didn't work, I only heard the messages from operator by both language: English and Vietnamese, no one picked up the phone.

Today I came back to the Consulate to check about the form DS-230 and DS-156-K, and the interview schedule. The lady at that Information Window told me that I should do what the instruction said on packet sent to me, no online application for my case. For interview schedule: not yet.

How about the other people at the same date of packet 3 submitted?? Please let me know some news from you.

They recieved mine on 0ct 1st and my girl got her call about 2 weeks ago for the interview. You should be very close. See if you can call them.. Everytime I tried all the circuits were busy =-/ .. I know how you feel about the waiting.. Its been over a year now for me. But hey.. look at the bright side California is going to give free health care to illegals kids.. wooo.
