Alright so thanks in advance for listening...

My wife's green card was in the card document/production phase but got returned as undeliverable since our housing situation was a little weird (moved for the summer had our mail forwarded to a P.O. Box) but once we were permanently back in our apt. we called the uscis and talked to a nice guy who confirmed our new address and said he would put in a service request to have our documents sent in 15 days. It has now been about 20 days and still haven't got anything.

Here's the question...he gave us a confirm # and said to call if we haven't anything in 15 days. Should we call?

Also my wife is freaking out because her work authorization expires in two weeks and what if she physically doesn't have her green card by then?

Anyway thanks for reading and the guidance.

embrace the journey.

If he told you to call in 15 days and it's been 20 days and still nothing...call.

You can explain that her visa will expire in 2 weeks, and hopefully he can expedite it since he told you you'd receive at least 5 days ago.

If she doesn't have her card by the time the EAD expires then she can make an infopass appointment and get a I-551 stamp in her passport - this will act as a temporary green card until her card is received.

uh.

call in again, to USCIS. (the immigrant spouse, not the USCitizen)

get a Tier 2 Human, an ISO.

Talk with the ISO, ask if any 'returned mail pieces' . If yes, go over the address again, ask for the returned mail pieces to be sent on to the proper address.

That's it, that's all ya gotta do. This other thing you mentioned? Smells like you talked to a CSR, not an ISO. ISO's can fix this really quickly, with same day or next day mail out-going.

---

USPS forward orders are ignored on green card shipments - there's a thing on the outside of the envelope that says 'DO NOT FORWARD'.
