I'm adjusting status from VWP (I got married next week). I still need to do my medical exam but I don't have my vaccination records with me because I had no idea I was going to get married when I came here. I phoned my doctors office this morning and they said they would need me to write a letter and include my mother's details so that they can phone her and verify that it's really me calling. I think this is too much hassle just for a piece of paper with a few vaccinations. I think I only have a few of the ones recommended (whatever ones you get in the UK as a kid) so I don't really mind paying for them again, seeing as I'm going to be paying for the others. I've also read on here that most of the time, they don't give you ALL the vaccines, just the ones they think you need, and you don't necessarily need to show your records. I'm worried that if I wait for my vaccination records to arrive, I will overstay my VWP and that it will cause problems. I've read that it's forgiven but I've also read other people saying they can punish you for that.

What is the best thing I should do?

I had one of my parents go to my childhood GP and print off a list of my childhood vaccinations. If you have family still there then perhaps that would be an option for you.

In my case, my doctor (in DC) accepted a scanned version of my vaccine record. Maybe your health provider in the UK could simply send you a scanned version of your vaccine record?
