What are you trying to say…. Ppl who cannot keep their existing policy that they like do not have decent employer?

No, that's not what I am trying to say even though for many of those that cannot keep their policies, it certainly seems to be the case. But there are probably also a significant number of self employed people that had policies that do not meet the guidelines. Those folks will have to find a new policy.

Are you trying to justify reason for those guys who lost the policy by saying “sometimes those policies aren't worth the paper they're printed on”?

No, wrong again. There are policies that do not meet the ACA requirements. Those policies will be unavailable as of Jan 2014. Policies meeting the requirements will be available instead and those will be available to any and all people needing them. Those policies also will be there when the insureds need them. That wasn't always the case with health insurance policies in this country. Too many people found out the hard way.

Should we blame the Tea Party for the healthcare fiasco?

I am sure you would be more than happy in doing that. Time after time experts had said this is a bad deal.... its is not worth it but dems had their head up the ####### not listening.

New approach was not beneficial to noone other than insurance companies.

i personally blame all the folks who keep on hollerin about socialism, yeah. but then if america could deal in reality and cut all the drama, we'd already have a single payer system and wouldn't rank 46 in world healthcare efficiency.

It's remarkable how low America places in health care efficiency: among the 48 countries included in the Bloomberg study, the U.S. ranks 46th, outpacing just Serbia and Brazil. Once that sinks in, try this one on for size: the U.S. ranks worse than China, Algeria, and Iran.

But the sheer numbers are really what's humbling about this list: the U.S. ranks second in health care cost per capita ($8,608), only to be outspent by Switzerland ($9,121) -- which, for the record, boasts a top-10 health care system in terms of efficiency. Furthermore, the U.S. is tops in terms of health care cost relative to GDP, with 17.2 percent of the country's wealth spent on medical care for every American.

In other words, the world's richest country spends more of its money on health care while getting less than almost every other nation in return.

It's important to note that this data doesn't necessarily reflect the best health care in the world; it is simply a measure of overall quality as a function of cost. Bloomberg explains its methodology as such:

Each country was ranked on three criteria: life expectancy (weighted 60%), relative per capita cost of health care (30%); and absolute per capita cost of health care (10%). Countries were scored on each criterion and the scores were weighted and summed to obtain their efficiency scores. Relative cost is health cost per capita as a percentage of GDP per capita. Absolute cost is total health expenditure, which covers preventive and curative health services, family planning, nutrition activities and emergency aid. Included were countries with populations of at least five million, GDP per capita of at least $5,000 and life expectancy of at least 70 years.

When a healthy person is made to pay extra for being health and cover unhealthy population it is no different than socialism.

Seriously do you think that after Obama Care…. US is going to move up from spot 46?

All the folks that I have talked to including (family) working in hospitals or doctors are in opinion that Obama care is going to further reduce the quality of medical services in US.

Obama and dems are there right now... they had to go on multi city tour to convience people that Obama Care still was a good deal.

you're working with a false understanding of socialism.

as a healthy person, i have no problem paying extra to cover healthcare for people who are not so fortunate. so, we have a difference in moral standard.

... called spreading the risk. It's how insurance works. Any insurance and all insurance. It is indeed the very point of insurance. So then insurance is socialism. And you're a socialist because you rely on insurance. Auto insurance, home insurance, life insurance, etc. You dirty socialist you!

I'm glad to know there are charitable people like you....but...I'm curious....How much will your moral standard actually cost you...bottom line...?

I am sure if your premium goes up 325 per month you will be cool.

The republicans made a huge mistake in October...the Affordable Health Care Act would have done their campaigning for them....they didn't need to screw over their party closing the government.

Exaclty. I said the same thing..They just need to kick back, shut up and be ready with a lot of I told you so.

i don't know yet. but tell me, how comfortable will you be deciding that you'll never be in the position to need someone else's help to take care of you when your sick? are you a millionaire? independently wealthy? because all of you b*tching and moaning about your premiums going up would certainly feel differently if you were sick, but could get better, if only you had enough money. prepare a dialog to have with your family, explaining, hey - the science for me to get better is there but i can't afford it and i only deserve treatment if my bank account can back me up.

what do you think will happen if enough people can't afford their new premiums? do you think the world will simply collapse or the system will be forced to check itself and correct the situation?
