Requested expedite for medical reasons (split topic)

Maybe some one can help me i called in today to request an expedite for medical reaons since im a diabetic and i meed my wife here with me they sed they wore going to call in 5 busines days i hoppe thats reason enough for an expedite on a june 24 pd

Unless your condition is life-threatening then it's unlikely just being diabetic will be enough for a medical expedite.

I agree with the post above. Diabetes is a chronic medical condition that is common and manageable. Unless you are in the Intensive Care Unit right now because of it, I doubt that they would expedite your petition based on your condition.

It really sucks that they have to have a life threatning as in life or death situation for them to expedite a request. I'm pregnant now and I requested them to expedite my approval in two weeks it will be 8 months since my NOA1. I was told they don't expedite based on pregnancy but I still requested it, they requested medical documents. I attached my doctors note confirming my pregnancy along with a letter. I'm praying fingers crossed its expedited....i'm sooo tired of waiting. Good luck on your request!

A normal (non-life-threatening) pregnancy is also not a valid reason to receive a medical expedite. Why should you be able to jump the queue in front of others who have also had to wait, just by virtue of your sexual activity?

Unfortunately they don't approve such request like pregnancy, diabetes and even cancer (if you have someone who can take care of you) but no harm in trying.

Cancer can be life-threatening, and I have seen several people here get medical expedites based upon it, although usually only if the petitioner, not the beneficiary, has the condition.

I agree. But usually people who got approved don't have anyone in states to take care of them otherwise I have seen them reject the request if they find out the person has relatives who can take care of them.

Not only by virtue of sexual activity but by virtue of poor planning. It always amazes me how women (petitioners and/or beneficiaries) would CHOOSE to put themselves in that position when it is still not certain whether the visa will be approved!
