Hi!

My i129f petition was approved on September 24 by the California Service Center. I have been calling the NVC over the past couple of weeks, and they still, as of this morning, haven't received our paperwork. It's been over a month, and I'm getting really worried since it looks like most people's packets are received by NVC fairly quickly.

The representatives at the NVC have told me that I need to wait 8 weeks. Today, I spoke to someone at USCIS who basically told me that the only thing I can do is schedule an appointment with a local USCIS office....I asked him to transfer me to an officer, but he told me that the officers don't have access to any information...He said only a local officer could help me. Is this even true?

I'm not sure what to do, or if I'm worried for nothing. Does the fact that this is taking so long mean that there is a problem with our application?

I just wish that I knew what was going on or what to do from here. :(

Thanks for your help! :)

No, it is not true. Your local USCIS office has nothing to do with your case being sent from your service center to the NVC. The tier 2 IO has access to your case information, but they cannot know how it long it will be until your file reaches the NVC,

8 weeks is the time frame given out lately for cases to reach the NVC. There are many posts about this in the K-1 Progress Reports forum and the NVC forum as well.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Progress Reports- topic is case status ~

I read some VJers here said that it takes longer for CSC to sent a case to NVC rather than another service centers. My service center was TSC and the processing was a bit faster - as you can see from my timeline-. To be honest, don't believe they said have to wait 6-8 weeks to make a call. I knew some VJers here got their case numbers less than a week after shipped to NVC. No harm to try to call them.

PS: I called +12024857600 (DoS) to find out about my case number. After you're connected press #1 and then #0. Good luck!
