Just curious: where do we get the update that our case has been shipped to NVC...is it on the USCIS status site? (my fiancé hasn't picked up the NOA2 hardcopy yet from his father [we get everything mailed there] so I don't know exactly what it states)

August 5, 2013: 1-129F mailed
August 7, 2013: Received at Lockbox
August 13, 2013: NOA1
September 4, 2013: Alien Reg. # change
October 16, 2013: NOA2
October 29, 2013: Sent to DOS

The NOA2 is what lets you know your petition is approved and will be sent on to the consulate. All cases go through the NVC on their way to the appropriate consulate. NVC will also send a letter to let you know when they send your case onto the consulate. However, you do not have to wait for the letter to call and ask about your case status and case # from the NVC. You want to give it time to have reached the NVC though before calling.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Progress Reports- topic is case status ~

I started calling NVC and DoS (Visa Unit) a week after my fiance got NOA-2 hardcopy by mail. Not very much luck in beginning though but oh well, after tried a few times, I finally was be able get my case number. With your case number, you can tracking the status of your visa application on CEAC. Good luck!

Thanks! Gave 'em a call just now. Absolutely no wait time, and no case number yet. You were approved 5 days before me so hopefully this week mine arrives! The guy I spoke to was friendly too! He sounded confused after he told me "It looks like it hasn't arrived yet" and my response was "Okay thanks for checking!" haha Sounds like he was expecting an argument haha

Ha ha ha. I was worried they could tracking my receipt number and how many times I did make calls. But, fortunately, they were different persons spoke on the phone with me.

They were all nice and polite since I am not an English native speaker adding with an Asian accent and they hardly understand while I was talking.

Prepare pen and paper because you don't know when you'll get your case number. Good luck and happy hunting case number!dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif .

TSC has been sending notification when they ship to NVC. I received my text and email from USCIS two weeks after my approval. CSC, from what I understand, doesn't give notification.
