Hi, Im just in the process of finishing up my G-325A and in the box for 'all other names used' im not entirely sure how to deal with it, i changed my surname 6 years ago to my mothers maiden name when i was 18 due to my parents splitting up which was entirely my own choice to do so, i have entered my previous name and i plan to send the original copy of my Deed poll with the I-129F packet but will that mean they will want a letter of me explaining the reason for changing it? on the other hand do i leave it blank as ive never been asked about my name change in the past and ive been in and out of the US many times over the last 10 years. im trying to avoid any unnecessary reason to get an RFE but in doing so i dont want to complicate a simple matter even more

thanks for reading

I did the exact same thing, using my Mum's maiden name. I sent a copy of the deed poll document with the packet, not the original. I had the original with me for the interview in case they wanted to see it, but they did not. I didn't include a letter of explanation either. I had no problems at all.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

just an after thought, where i put in my previous name should i put in brackets ''see attachment'' or would that be too much? it seems to be a stupid question i know but im paranoid that things wont match up well enough and ill get a dreaded RFE tongue.png

LOL..I know that feeling. I didn't bother, thinking it would make sense if they read it, and I guess it did. You could make a note of it in a cover letter, just to give you some piece of mind. Something all important in this process :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
