Just arrived in the States with a K3 visa status.at the airport the immi officer collected my brown envelope and stamped my passport.Currently,I do not know the next step to take.Will the state department contact for further instructions?how can I obtain a social security card,employment authorisation and state ID card?Can anyone be of help here?

You can apply for your Social Security Card immediately at your local Social Security Administration office.

You can file a I765 for work authorization now, or when you Adjust Status to become a permanent resident. The advice here is that it is better to file the I765 for employment authorization before filing for Adjustment of Status (AOS), as the authorization will last longer.

You can't apply for the Work Authorization BEFORE the AOS..... you can apply for them together, or you can apply for the Work Authorization after the AOS.

Actually, K3 CAN apply for work authorization before AOS. They are different from K1 And I heard from Yodrak that if you do it that way you will get a longer work authorization, so it sounds better to me

yes k3 can apply for a EAD before filing AOS.... and head over to the adjustment of status forum... thats where you are now! congrats!
