Anyone know if it is possible for the petitioner to complete the form? Is it possible for the beneficiary to be able to access the form afterwards to print the barcode info page?

I had the same the same question on the DS-160 and here is the answer i received from Hank so please thank him if this helps.

You can complete the application then save it (note where the .DAT file is saved to your computer), email the .DAT file to your fiancee so she can save it to her computer then log onto the website and have it retrieve the completed application from her computer for her to electronically sign and submit.

READ THIS: You can save your application or return to a partially completed application. When you begin a new DS-160, you will be issued a unique application identification (ID) number after selecting and answering a security question. Once you have your application ID number and have selected and answered a security question, you may exit the DS-160 application and return to it later. You must have your application ID to return to your application. To save your DS-160 to the Consular Electronic Application Center website, click the “Next” button at the bottom of each page you complete. You have 30 days to return to a partially completed application.

NOTE: Other people can assist you with your visa application. Note that under U.S. law (22 C.F.R. 41.103) you must electronically sign and submit your own application unless you qualify for an exemption. Even if someone else helped you complete the application, you (the applicant) must click the “Sign Application” button, or your application may not be accepted.

I have filled out the form and saved it (but not signed or submitted) and asked my fiancee to see if she can retrieve which she was able to do from her computer, this way we had two sets of eyes looking for mistakes. After we are satisfied that we have every thing completed correctly she will sign and submit the form.

It'll give you a PDF at the end with the barcode and everything that needs to be printed out. You can just save it and send it to beneficiary. Officially though the person applying is the one that must press the button to submit it at the end. They won't know who did it though, so you can just do it, just officially that's the way it should be done as they say you are signing the application by pressing the button.

Hin-d, I'm curious. I'm filling out the DS 160 and I can not make it past the street address home address line. I try to save and it kicks me back to fix the error. I even put in my own address and it would save. Is there a trick you know to get through this since you have completed it? thanks.

Actually, I didn't complete the application. Tanya completed this on her own. I'm sorry that I can't help. I spoke with Tanya, and she said that she didn't have a problem.

I completed it a few times for a few different people. Never had such a problem. Maybe try a different browser.

So, guys when submitting D-160 the page with a bar-code (which i present at the embassy) is in PDF and i can save it on my PC and print it out later, right? Which browser u recommend, Chrome or its better with Explorer?

I completed the form for Alla, printed it, then scanned it in and emailed it to her. She printed it and signed it.
