Single parents have been doing it for centuries. What matters is not how many parents one has so much as how good the parent(s) is(are).

People can also drop out of school and then go on to be a success.

The facts and social science are clear about which model should be the "Gold Standard."

Unmarried women having kids has proven so disastrous even the hard Left is realizing it.... though they are not sure how to address it.

If you want boys and girls to grow up balanced, to be law abiding, to stay in school and do better, to have a healthy outlook on their life and future.

To use drugs and alcohol much less, to attempt suicide far less often, to not require welfare themselves.

To form more stable families as adults. To be victims of sexual and physical abuse much less. Etc Ect Ect.

The Gold standard of.... the two people who create the child, raise the child.... should be what we hold up.

To elevate other models as "just fine" has filled our social safety nets and our Jails.

Life happens, marriages which can't be repaired fall apart, people die or fail their commitments however, it's time to stop treating unmarried mothers as heroes or victims.... when the truth is their kids are the victims as they seldom flourish as well as they might have,

As a nation we all know how to deal with it. It is called Planned Parenthood. A choice the Supreme Court made legal decades ago. In addition there is contraception and sex-ed, but somehow there is always individuals who take exception to any of these. They are only interested in the sanctity of life - so long as they don't have to deal with unwanted babies, care for them or take any responsibility for their well being, as a society.

a single adult can successfully raise children, this is true. my beef with this article in particular with regards to single parent families is the crapload about god being a better 'dad' than any other soul who attempted to step up to the plate. that's insanity. i feel bad for her children that they were denied an actual relationship with a human being as a parental figure in exchange for their mother's husband jesus. i'd lol if it didn't make me teary. it's sad.
