i wanted to stop reading at the first paragraph. for people who complain that recipients of welfare spend money on cellphones, hd tv's etc..imo there is no difference in "deciding to tithe". god got her off welfare? her bills just kept getting paid?

this is some creflo dollar bs right here.

this woman, got herself off of welfare. she's obviously very motivated, but completely misguided.

when i got to this #######, i stopped. didn't read the second page. if anybody wants to talk about what the feminist movement has done to the role and status of american men today, please consider that evangelical christians have been side screwing male and female esteem and function for years. this is just gross:

He is real in our house,” she told me. “He has provided for me and my child better than 10 husbands could have.”

i have no problem with her success. i have a problem with her attributing her success to TITHING. her bills just kept getting paid because she gave money to her church? do you honestly believe that? would you encourage other poor single mothers to try the tithing method instead of the work hard and focus on your parenting/involvement in your kid's lives approach? if so, you should get yourself a television show.

further, and more importantly - i have a problem with her assertion 'god' is an acceptable replacement instead of an actual, present, father figure in her children's lives. it's disgusting.

If your beef was the "misuse" of funds, I could feel ya... but If I were to prpose we ban cell phones plans for folks on Welfare or even plans which allow web access, you would say what?

The whole reason public money is a narcotic (as FDR said) is because there is no accountability.

I find it very unbecoming that a church - any church - would accept money from someone in need, but then again, religion is the best business of all.

I also have trouble reconciling that a god - any of them - would have any use for money.

This woman was brave enough to pull herself up and get out of poverty and I can promise you she did it all alone without any help from god, the ester bunny or santa Claus...
