Ok, so we finally got the petition approved on 10/25/13. They said they sent a letter to me that day with the approval.

Question about the time frame: How fast can I actually get my fiance here in the US?

Our goal is to get her here by Thanksgiving or a few days sooner.

Please let me know if this sounds right:

1..I think I read somewhere here in the forums or links that it takes 5-7 days for the NVC to receive the packet.

2..Then 9-14 days to get to Manila.

3..a couple of days to schedule and attend the medical.

4..attend the seminar.

5..a minimum of about 3 days for the first available interview, which if I wanted her here by the 27, she would have to attend the interview around the 21st. I think I would have her phone in the interview right after she makes the medical appointment so she would know to make the interview about 3-4 days after the appointment, unless she has to make the interview appointment first. (??)

I had her gather her required documents already, so no wait on those. I'll be sending my documents to her within the end of the week, express, so she should have it in 2 weeks from now.

So with the estimates above, I would say:

1...USCIS send packet first thing Monday 10/28. NVC receives 10/31.

2...Lets say NVC sends it off that Monday on 11/4. Arrives 11/12 or 11/13. (Is this right, or am i missing a step)

3...MNL# by 11/14.

4...Make appointments on 11/15.

5...Go to medical by 11/18, interview by 11/21.

Does all this sound about right or can a few days be shaved off by getting the mnl# faster?

Can anyone shed a light on the quickest possible timeline if there are no delays and everything just went smoothly, starting from 10/25/13.

Thanks in advance.

Just found out my NOA2 approved Oct 25, 2013 is still good. Was automatically extended by the embassy until one year of the last date of notification which is Dec 3, 2013. It's a race now.

- Since California Service Center doesn't send out the approved petitions immediately, I don't think you will be able to get her there by Thanksgiving. CSC is averaging 35-45 days from NOA2 to NVC. Based on the K-1 timelines here on VJ, NVC is currently processing NOA2's around Sept. 20th.

Please let me know if this sounds right:

1..I think I read somewhere here in the forums or links that it takes 5-7 days for the NVC to receive the packet. - The normal timeframe between USCIS and NVC is 8 weeks. You will hear this a lot if you try to call NVC.

2..Then 9-14 days to get to Manila. - should be right unless you get put on AP

3..a couple of days to schedule and attend the medical. - once you get your case number, you can pay the visa fee, go do the medical and schedule the interview. Scheduling the interview is kinda tricky because you need to make sure your physical files are already with the USEM. Allow 7-10 days between medical and interview. NVC told me to allow 10-20 business days for the files to reach USEM. Some waited only a week.

4..attend the seminar. - you can do this anytime

(??) - yes, schedule the interview first, you can use the interview email confirmation during the medical if you dont have the NVC letter yet.

I had her gather her required documents already, so no wait on those. I'll be sending my documents to her within the end of the week, express, so she should have it in 2 weeks from now.

So with the estimates above, I would say:

1...USCIS send packet first thing Monday 10/28. NVC receives 10/31. - Nope, don't think this will happen within this time. If CSC's processing stays at this pace, your petition might reach NVC around 3rd week of November.

Basically, granting that everything goes smoothly, you might have some chance of getting her there by Christmas or New Years. But I don't think Thanksgiving is feasible.

If you get lucky, sure. But most CSC filers have a wait time of a month or so for their case #s from NVC. We got approved on September 23rd and still waiting for a case # which we will hopefully get this week.

Our target timeline is to be together before Christmas.

Best of luck to you and your fiancee.

Though I love to plan and have things work out, trying to plan a visa-in-hand down to the day with USEM makes about as much sense as trying to estimate the flow of water over Niagra falls with a bucket.

My advice is to sit back, wait, and let it happen. Cuz it will. And it will ONLY happen at the speed that it does. Anything else will result in your getting more impatient and frustrated. The best thing you can do it pay attention here, and have all your docs/proof on hand before needed. Especially the original I-134.

grrrr. :(

Thanks to everyone for their input.

I guess our petition fell in line with the average 5month timeframe, but then there's the 2 month time frame afterwards to get her here. It's a bit aggravating seeing some petitions on igor's list taking only 3months, then about a few weeks to a month to get the fiance here. I even saw one that was 3 months total. >.< Well, plan B was Dec 8 for our engagement anniversary. Plan C is to fly her here the morning of Dec 25th so she arrives that afternoon, so she can spend xmas eve there and spend xmas here. Plan D is right before New Years. Plan E is wtfbbqidontknowwhattodobutwait :)

Well, I'll just remain positive. Plan A (Nov 27) would be the Universe helping out and creating some kind of 'balance' since that was the first time I visited the PI specifically for her last year. Hopefully Plan B (which was the original planned date) happens. But the way it looks from what everyone says, it looks like the biggest chance is Plan C for xmas, which would make a great 'present' as well :)

Toss the 5-7 days out the window ... try upwards of 8 weeks, some are lucky after 4 weeks. Then a week or two for the file to reach USEM after NVC ships it.

First thing to do after receiving the MNL# is pay the visa fee at BPI, then 8-24 hours later schedule the interview ONLINE... then the medical.

Medical is first come, first served, best you can do to save time there is pre-register online.

You can do CFO before the interview if you like.

I did say once you get the case number yada yada yada schedule the interview.

What I meant was picking out a date for the interview is the tricky part since your physical files need to be at USEM for the interview. Guess I needed to rephrase that.
