Affidavit and Banking

Hi everyone!

I have been looking for a direct answer to this, so I hope someone can help! My Fiance and I were reading the i-134 Affidavit instructions and it says we need a letter from the bank showing date the account opened, the amount in the account as well as amount deposited in the past year. My Fiance (the US petitioner) is in the Marines and went to the Navy Federal bank and they told him they couldn't just tell him how much has been deposited. They had to go higher up and ask for a specific letter stating how much has been deposited. They said that they could mail him the letter and it could take up to two weeks. I don't understand why they won't just let us know! We even offered to add up the deposits that are listed on his statements so they wouldn't need to do the work and they still said no!

So anyways, I'm freaking out because my interview is on Nov. 13th and I don't know how important this letter is and I'm just afraid I won't have it in time. He has a letter from his Staff Serg. saying how much he makes and that he is employed by the USMC and everything. Does anyone know how important the letter from the bank is? Thanks!

I've read/heard the same as the previous poster... just that - especially for military - W2s & a couple LES (which show time served/time remaining on current contract) is sufficient. Some do a letter from Chain of Command if there are no W2s proving income if your fiance is newly in the military.
