My fiance and I are planning to apply for K-1 visa and go through the adjustment of status process so that I can obtain permanent residence.

I am a naturalized Canadian citizen and born in China. My fiance and I went to the same University and met there but we want to live together in the US.

Someone told me recently that because there is a quota on Chinese born immigrants that can obtain greencard, I might have to wait a longer time for the adjustment of status to be approved. Does anyone know if this is true or if I should expect a longer processing time for the AOS because I was born in China?

-Thank you in advance!

I personally haven't heard of such thing like that and from my understanding, since you're a naturalized Canadian Citizen, your case should be processed as USC and Canadian citizen marriage not USC and Chinese Citizen marriage.
