Has anyone else had to wait 6+ months for aos interview?

Hi everyone, thanks for any responses in advance. Here is my problem, my husband and I have been married since 4/12/13. Once we were married, we immediately filed his paperwork within one week. Not long after, we got a letter for his biometrics, that was completed in May. Then, in June we received an RFE because some of my tax information didn't make it to USCIS even though, it was submitted, complete. They received our RFE, evidence on 8/6/2013, and the website says to allow 60 days. It has been more than the 60 days to review the evidence. My husband did receive his EAD, so that's a blessing. But my question is why haven't we gotten our letter for our AOS interview? Has anyone else had to wait 6+ months just for the interview?

Yes, plenty of people wait that long. It's not unusual. You can check your local office's timeframe on uscis.gov processing times. Choose your local office and look for I-485.

If you entered on a K-1 visa then your interview might be waived, but you will most likely wait longer.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Yeah, that is where things get kind of iffy. My husband was here on a b1 b2 visa, we met and after a couple years got married. I am glad to hear this isn't anything unusual. I was checking out other couple's time lines, and was getting a bit worried there was something else going on that was taking so long. My husband was married before when he first came to the states, and I was afraid that that was the hold up, causing some sort of an issue. Thanks for the reassurance.

For us it has been 6months+ but still no changes. Got EAD within 3months so all is well.& we will see wht happens for another 6months cuz we got interview waiver letter stating that it will take 6months from the day of issueing this letter n we got that letter in aug..

You can check your local office volume chart here for your I-485 http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=9&office=57&charttype=2 I've no idea if its accurate

Anyways good luck to you

Hey, just like @@mirpeArl, I got my EAD issued within 3 months of filing for AOS and then got the Interview Waiver letter. Just keep waiting - it takes a while, but they'll get to your case eventually :-)
