Rob Brown, star of the HBO show “Treme,” says he was “paraded” through Macy’s Herald Square in handcuffs and detained for an hour after being racially profiled and accused of using a fake card to buy his mother a $1,350 watch.

“The Express” star’s allegations against Macy’s come days after the Daily News revealed another high-end retailer, Barneys, was rocked by complaints it had racially profiled two black shoppers for credit card fraud when they made pricey purchases at the snooty store.

It's amazing. If you steal for those type of material things, they call you a thief. If you save your money for it, you still get accused or you're called stupid for spending your money on it.

You know, I have believe the same happens to white people also. It's just not news worthy when it does.

On another subject..I recently opened another bank account. They gave me one of those instant ATM cards. I did not think about it at the time, but that has to be dangerous. It has no name on it

-They acted contrary to their policy when a false card is thought to be found in use.

-They acted differently towards this guy than they typically do when in similar cases with Asian or white Customers.

Just getting detained is no reason to determine the action was racial motivated or an act of "profiling".

This stuff happens all the time, if the person is black it's a banner story.

I doubt it. Why would any minimum wage store clerk think that someone who pays with a debit or credit card is committing fraud? These aren't the store owners we're talking about here. If the card goes through, why would he think it was stolen? And if the store policy is to ask for an ID to go along with the card, it should be for everyone, not selectively. If done selectively, they are profiling.

Q: Do you believe for a minute security at the most prestigious store would mention his race in the confrontation?
