Hello everyone! Has anyone been approved for K1 visa using the new DS-160 form? My Fiance just interviewed in Manila and was approved; however, at the window she was never asked for the passport photos. The person behind the counter asked for other documents and collected what was needed, but never asked for the passport photos. Can i assume they will use the photo that was uploaded to complete the electronic ds-160? We are worried this will cause a delay now. As all of us here in the forum know.....it is such a dreadful, stressful process to finally get to the interview date....and we have all waited so long that another delay is simply not wanted :-) if it can be avoided.

Any input is appreciated.

Not sure if they will use the one on Ds-160 but based on what I know, the extra pictures submitted during the medical in St. Lukes will be forwarded to the embassy. I was interviewed Oct 21, got my visa today, I didn't submit any passport photos on the day of my interview.

They didn't asked for my passport photo either on my interview even though I brought some with me during.

Andy_san is right, US embassy will use the one that we submitted during medical at Saint Lukes.

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

May I also ask about the DS-160? I just now heard about it. Interview had been scheduled for Sept but we got held up in Aug with a Sputum test. After being cleared by St Luke's last week, now our interview is Nov 12th. Should I use the DS-160?

http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html

NOTE: For K visa cases in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7th, 2013, one of the following situations exist:

  • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.

--> I guess I meet this requirement and do not need it? BUT in that case, is it helpful to use it anyway?

I don't see the DS-160 requirements in the instructions.

Thanks,

Quite often they don't ask for the passport photos as they already have them from St. Luke's. St. Luke's collects the passport photos required during the medical, then forwards them to the embassy.

All will be fine.

Did St. Luke's reschedule your interview after Oct 7th?

That link is to the obsolete instructions letter.

This is the new letter, and the DS-160 is the only DS form listed --> http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf

St Luke's didint do anything with the appointment. We managed it ourselves.

We canceled the first interview which was in Sept when told she needed the Sputum test in August. Before getting the results on Oct 22nd, we scheduled the new appointment for Nov 12th

How long have these new instructions been posted?

Well it appears you rescheduled AFTER Oct 7th, if so then you need to use the DS-160. Make sure you have a digital copy of your passport photo.

New instructions letter has been out since Oct 9th.

Best to use this link for the instructions letter.

Hank, we rescheduled the interview Sept 19th and got the Nov 12th interview date. We have the confirmation email notice from the USEM dated Sept 19th. Should I follow the new instructions? Seems I'm OK with the older one.

Ah.... OK, then you are good with the original DS forms. If you haven't done any forms yet, do the new DS-160.

Travelpro,

yes please do the ds-160 forms. My fiance was also exempt and wasnt rquired to have that form, but she completed the form anyway. When she went to interview, she submit only the ds-160 form. The interviewer was happy she had it completed. It made the process much easier and didnt require review of the other documents.

Thank you everyone else. We were so worried, and forgot about the photos submitted at St Lukes. The process is so long and requires so much paperwork that it is easy to get "lost" in it.
