Hello everyone, I'm new here but I have very stressfull issues going on right now. I wanted to get more information from you guys before I see a legal adviser for more proceedings. I came here in 2009 as an F1 student and till now I'm maintaining my status as an F1. Last year may2012 I was notified that I won the diversity visa lottery and I applied for adjustment of status with USCIS when my number came current in july 2013. I went to the interview in September 2013 and USCIS denied my application because I had checked the citizen box in an I 9 employment authorization form ofcourse unintentionally and when USCIS brought that subject in the interview I told them that it was a mistake and I did not mean to check that box since I had no idea how the paperwork processes for a job offer went. Few days ago I received a letter from them saying that I have been put under removal proceedings and should appear before an immigration judge. Now my question is can I go ahead and file for i485 through my boyfriend who I have been living with for over a year after we get married? He is in the process of getting his citizenship right now and I want to know what is the best way to go about this situation just to get an idea before I see a legal adviser for further assistance.

A false claim of US citizenship carries a lifetime bar from the US that cannot be waived.

Find a good lawyer ASAP, but don't get your hopes up.
