Has anyone regretted leaving Canada?

I regret not living closer to my family, especially as my parents age. My US husband wouldn't think twice - he'd move to Canada if we could.

We are both professionals who can find work in our chosen fields.....but I can honestly say that the standard of living I have now as a couple certainly out weighs my circumstances when I was a single mother back in ON - even though I ahd a decent well-paying job and everything was pretty good.

I jump at any chance to go back home to visit and we treasure our time doing the simplest things and going to the places I am familiar with - I miss the easy familiarity that I can't get anywhere else.

I would move to Canada in a second for my wife to be with her family if we could. I have a very good job here and that was the main reason for us choosing to live in the US, but I wouldn't hesitate to move if I could find similar employment in Canada. I know how much my wife gave up to move here and be with me, and I'm forever grateful. That's a very tough choice to make. I do like Canada very much and would enjoy living there.

You sound like my husband - he thinks Canada may very well be his lost homeland!

Sorry to hear that, KT. Any chance you and your husband could move up there? Could he land a job there?

I'm very sorry to hear that. Just wondering if anything has changed yet? Did life in the US get better, stay the same, or has anyone returned to Canada (alone or with American spouse)?

You're not likely going to get a reply from as most of the posters in this thread haven't been on in years.

We have had many Canadians move back with their spouses and some without.
