So, if you look at my signature you can see the timeline of events. Near the time USCIS approved and sent our stuff to NVC, they switched back to the "initial review" phase. Is this normal? We did move in Canada, and told them ahead of time our address and everything based on the operators insturctions. Could this cause a problem in our case? It's normal for people to move, our lease was up, we lived in Vancouver and our interview is in Montreal where the beneficiaries parents live. We had no reason to stay in Vancouver, especially with the job market.

The webstie says: "

Initial Review

On June 28, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance."

And then, : "

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition."

We filed the I-130... would this be a problem when we have to adjust in a couple of years? I thought people were free to move as long as they give notice.

Thank you!

I had the same thing happen to me after I changed my address on their website. I wouldn't worry about it. My husband has his interview scheduled in November also so I don't think it means anything. You have your NOA2 hard copy as proof of approval and that's all you need.

August 4 2012: filed i130

December 5 2012: noa1

May 8:2013: noa2

June 3 2013: case received at NVC

August 26 2013: AOS package received at NVC

Sept 19 2013: case complete

October 1 2013: interview date received from NVC

Nov 26 2013: interview

If you're already at the consulate, do not bother with the USCIS website anymore. There are some that never show up, some that stay at initial review forever, some that who knows what is happening with. You're just stressing yourself out at this point!

I hope so!

Yes, we finally recieved it in August. They sent it to our old address in Vancouver in May, even when I told them a month in advance that we were moving and notified them after we moved. NVC had to forward it to our new/current address in Monteal.

Good luck with your interview next month. :)

Haha, thanks. I thought so!

For all of our way through USCIS we couldn't view anything about our case and none of the operators could bring up the information. I don't want to ever have to call them back if I don't have to, they were so rude when we told them we had to move and have them "change" our address! They said "it couldn't be done" and either hung up or forwarded us to an officer that could only put in a request and have us fill out some paper...that I'm pretty sure only needs to be filled out after the beneficiary has a GC. I don't remember which form it was.

Thank you guys!
