hi all,

just checking if anyone had the same case or whatever opinion you guys can offer...

i finally got my greencard today (check out my sig for all the details on my case)...but the card says "resident since 09/27/2006" eventho my AOS was approved 10/31...is this considered an error or should i just let it be? all other info is correct and i dont really want to return my card for correction if i dont have to

thanks in advance for your replies!

Date of approval doesn't always match the date you got the approval email. My guess would be someone rubber stamped approval, but the paperwork machinery didn't get around to informing you until a month later.

In my case I got the "approval" email 2 months after the "resident since" date. In my case the "resident since" date is the date I had my interview.

I'm not sure, but could it also be because of the name checks that they do? Hmm...

Usually the date of approval is the date of your interview, but of course things happen. All this means is that you will be applying for your permanent green card (the 10 year one) a little sooner than you expected.

Welcome to America as permanent resident.

Hi jeeleebee, it's just fine .... as i''ve checking your timeline before, you had waiting for a little while for your approval notice ... its just a circumstances of they approved you on sept. but they have delays on providing to send you the notices of approval.

As for my approval is 2 weeks advance than my approval notice in email. The date of notice is late than the date on my GC card. The only problem you should consider is if you got wrong spelling or info in your GC card.

regards,

I got my green card on monday but mine says: Residence since 12/05/06 that's the day my GC was ordered for production according to my status online, but i didnt have any interview. But i think too that you should leave it like that, its only 2 months of difference, the only thing is that you will have to apply earlier for Removing Conditions on your Residency.

No, residency date can only start after the name check has completed, so that would cause the date to be later, not earlier.

Why on earth would you even consider returning the GC to the gov't????

I wouldn't even worry about the dates....

I have to say I agree with this. Don't worry be happy. ;)

It also means that you'll be eligible to apply for citizenship sooner, if that is an eventual goal for you.

Congratulations on receiving your green card!

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.
