In transit means it's been sent to the Consulate in Naples.

Once the CEAC Status Update turns to READY, wait a few days and then send them an email at IVNAPLES at state dot gov with all your details (Names, Case Number).

I sent them an email the day the CEAC status updated to ready and they answered almost right away that they couldn't yet see it in their system (I think it was either a Thursday or a Friday).

They then sent me an email Monday morning (with Packet 3 attached to it) that they had received the application. They asked me to look at the content of packet 3 and return the statement to them as soon as I was ready to have the appointment scheduled. I sent them an email with the "Applicant's Statement" right afterwards and got my appointment letter (literally another email), a couple of hours later, on the same day!

Our case is 'ready' as of yesterday and we received packet 3.

I guess I'll complete form DS-160 later on today and then wait until I get some documents in the mail (I-134 etc).

Can't believe your interview is in 11 days! So close!

Yes, everything went well!!!

Everyone was super nice, both at the Varelli and at the Consulate.

I have picked up my passport with the visa this morning at 11am, and have spent countless hours looking at it ever since!

We are now at the airport, overnighting in London and flying to the US tomorrow morning!

To answer your question, yes, you can put "other" in that specific field.

Visa approved! The only hang up was that she needed a different police certificate; I believe its a "General Certificate." But will post in much more detail when I can see her again. Right now she is on a train heading back to her home. Several advices come to mind for the future:

1. After you submit your DS-160 online and you are ready for your interview don't wait too long until you are emailing them for an interview date. My fiancé tried calling and emailing with ZERO responses. I emailed and it was almost instant. Strangely, we got an interview date but ten I had to email them back for a time as the visa payment site asks for it. Once you have the interview date (and time) you can go pay for it and remember to print out the confirmation sheet.

2. Getting your vaccinations done before the interview seems to be the way to go. Cheaper and it saves you time.

3. The interview process was smooth and polite. My fiancé had a very nice man who asked to look at some pictures and then had a pleasant conversation about our future plans together. Nothing at all interrogative.

Yes, it's 2 police certificates which I got (hopefully the right ones as I had to pay). I hope my fiancè will soon send me his papers (I-134 etc.) cause for some reason he hasn't gotten his employer letter yet and so I've been waiting for a couple of weeks since we found out our case was 'ready' at Naples. I'm not even sure how long it's going to take for mail to get here but by now I've learned to be patient with this entire visa application.

Nice to know your interview went fine, I'm sure you'll get your visa as soon as you send that extra police certificate.
