this morning at 7:10 am i got a call from a local number. Answered and the guy says "is this ......." I answer yes. Then he says that he's with immigration and is outside of my apt building & would like to come up. I say sure, can he wait while I head back home now ? because I leave for work at 5:40 am every morning. I sold my 96' honda accord to move into my own place, find a job & get on my feet. And so i commute (3 bus routes) to work every day. He asked how long would it take and i said i could be back there by after 8:00 am because I'm using public transportation. He then said nevermind, and began a slew of questioning. Did my wife spend the night with me ? (yes), where is she ? (she had left for work too), where does she work ? (i gave him the company name and general area, but come on - do YOU know the exact street address and zip code of where your spouse works ?, cause I don't even my my own work address and it's a bank). Verified some personal info, and then asked for our schedules (wanted to know exactly when we left/came home). I gave him everything and even asked if he could wait for me and i'll call my boss later but i could make it back to the apartment in the next hour. Still, he said nevermind. Then he said thank you, have a good day. Interview was on friday June, 21st 2013. We moved to our current address a few weeks after the interview. This is our 1st correspondence with them since that interview. Please check my posts on details of how it went. I'm trying to keep calm, but i'm scared to death of being denied. what do i do now ? wait a day/a year for another update/visit ? i need some helpful advice guys. Please if you have experience on home visits tell me how this works ? God Bless you all.

Don't be to scared and paranoid. They sent out field agents as they should to investigate you. You got married after an overstay so of course you raised suspicion of a bonafide relationship. As Long as you guys showed evidence of your marriage and live together you will be fine.

But scary to think someone out the blue calls you like that and you gave all such vital info. How you know it was legit? Did you follow up and call USCIS and verify said agent?

@ezekiel2020 i can't for the life of me find my earlier posts so you could see my actual post on our interview, but my io questioned me during the interview about money i had in my account from family, outstanding student bills, and our living situation. Most of the other questions were basic. We lived with a friend at the time (who also signed an affidavit as proof of our relationship). I didn't think that much of the living situation because if i'm not working how does he expect us to pay rent and live with 1 income (my wife's a baker) seemed like he expected us to be "well off" i guess. the measely $200 a month i received from family was because i wasn't working. i had outstanding student bills because well....who doesn't ? not sure what stuck out to the io, but maybe these things set off something he's looking for. I'm just curious as to what next ? I asked the field agent to wait so i could return home but he didn't, do i wait another 4 months ? its just tedious knowing we've done nothing but are young & broke.

@dwheels76 yes we live together. i hope they return on a weekend or after work, or to hell with work i could have came back but i guess he/they had to leave. Yes you are right, i'll try to confirm that this is infact immigration and the call was genuine.

Yes , home visits happen more then we see posted on sites. They are due to when something just dont make sence. Most times someone forgot to read the entire file or look at evidence that was presented....... Its not odd that this happened to you and your wife....... but your one step up on them, IF they call again, you wont be caught off guard... Very best wishes for a end to this journey...
