We got the visa in hand!

I remember reading about 'first time immigrant visa one-way ticket' on PAL. Anyone have more info on that? Is it something that needs to be booked at a PAL office with proof or can it be done online? I searched the PAL web site, could not find info on it.

I booked our PAL tickets (Ceb-Mnl-SFO) at a travel agency (not online), they gave me and my child a 'first time immigrant discount'.

Wow you already have the visa on hand. Mine is still on transit to my pick up location. But we just booked a one way ticket online for cebu-korea-detroit-vermont. This flight costs $1600 on trvel agencies.. But try searching so you could save. Best of luck to the next journey..

I booked my ticket at PAL website there's no discount, also tried to inquire at travel agencies and said PAL don't have first time immigrant discount as of the time.

Feb. 2013 - First conversation ( we met through a friend )
Mar 26, 2013 - First meeting in person, Manila
April 06, 2013 - He went back to US
April 15, 2013 - I-129F sent to USCIS
April 17, 2013 - I-129F delivered
April 19, 2013 - NOA1
April 23, 2013 - Alien Registration Number was changed
June 17, 2013 - Second Visit
July 31,2013 - RFE
August 06, 2013 - Return to US
August 08, 2013 - RFE reply sent. ( next day delivery service)
August 09, 2013 - RFE response received
August 13, 2013- APPROVED!
12nn - Received an email from Representative Staff that our petition is approved already. ( w/ email from USCIS officer )
8pm - Received email confirmation about the approval & Online Status Updated.
August 14,2013- got my BC & Cenomar ( waited 5mins for BC & almost 1 1/2hr for Cenomar)
August 15, 2013 - got my NBI ( total processing time from step 1 to releasing 1 1/2hrs)
August 23,2013 - CFO Attended, Got GCC. Sticker to follow.
Sep 18, 2013 - Got MNL Case # via Phone & Paid Visa Fee @ BPI
Sept 23, 2013 - Medical PASSED - 1 Day Only

It took 5 working days. Fiance did the interview on a Friday, received following Friday. The website (CEAC) never changed the status, "ISSUED". then Roda received a phone call yesterday as the 2Go people couldnt find her apartment. Lol!

Well 6 years ago there was a discount. But the easiest way is to send her money, and she can book at the local PAL office. But the fare was 600 dollars or so, from Laoag to Honolulu. Lucky she goin need only 1 flight to Oahu. So. You goin have lau lau or lechon at the luau?

what travel agency did you use to purchase your tickets? thanks

Grand holidays in Cebu. Try to call first at least 2-3 different travel agencies and select the one that offers you the lowest price.

What did the discount amount to? 10%? 15%?

I did not know how much was the actual discount but the price that Grand holiday gave me was indeed lower than $80 as compared to PAL's website at that time. They call it, book and buy ticket. I also paid in dollars since the exchange rate at the travel agency is higher than Php1 compared to the black market.

I see fares vary from $560-$640. I think they are tracking my IP. I just checked an hour ago.and the same date is now $640, originally $560. Lol, just joking about the tracking but the fare changes quite a bit each day. I'll check again tonight.

But seriously, an extra $80 to get my love here and be together? No problem!!
