Receiving my green card - when?

I received the following e-mail today:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On December 13, 2006, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

Does it take the full 60 days to receive your card? Can I start applying for jobs now? Can I get hired without having yet received my card?? I would appreciate anyone's help .... PLEASE REPLY!!!! Thanks.

My husband recieved his 4 days after we got that email. some ppl have waited as much as 1-2 weeks. i guess it depends on how lazy uscis is feeling at the moment.
