Congratulations!! Ours was approved too on October 24, 2013 and the good thing was that it

Only Took them 36 days to process, i guess we got lucky :)

Is it ok to call a day after being approved ?? Or should I wait a few days..

You should wait two weeks after you get a ship notification, and call

 

8/22/15 Received notice of interview "call in letter" for September 1st 8am

9/01/15 AOS Interview Houston-APPROVED!

9/01/15 Card in production, Welcome notice has been mailed

9/05/15 Welcome Notice Received

9/08/15 Greencard was mailed

9/10/15 GREENCARD RECEIVED!!!!!!!!

6/2/17 mailed I-751 to csc priority mail

7/1/17 I-751 returned rejected (multiple items)

7/3/17 I-751 mailed again with signature confirmation

7/6/17 second I-751 delivered and signed for by Daniel Manchaca

7/22/17  Biometrics letter for 8/2/17

We are also January 2013 filers. We got our NOA 2 In July and after 4 months will finally have my interview. We never got RFE or anything ,it seems that the last months of the year are the most busiest ! Next appointments available for Montreal for example are in February 2014 - Fortunately we got one for November ! - It will all depend how the system in your embassy works.

They are not going to make it easy to get there. Also, are there any hotels in the area? I would hate to have to stay downtown and then have to get there so early in the morning. Almost makes a car a necessity.

Still waiting on our NOA2. NOA 1 was August 16th.

I emailed them this morning about that and this was their response:

Thank you for your message. Please be advised that we are moving in the coming year. However, we do not have a specific date to move. The move will be done accordingly and all the cases will be handled and transferred to the new building.
