SO of course when I wasn't expecting it, their was the email :D I was scared to open it at first hahah, squinted at first but once I saw "approved" I started smiling and crying. I hugged my baby so tight and altho she is only 11 months she started laughing amd got happy with me lol. I wasn't able to tell him right away because he was working but when he called, he was in awe hahah.

Our consulate in Santo Domingo, does anyone know how long it might take for the interview ? Can I have hope of having him here by Christmas ?

And what exactly is the next step ? I focused so much on getting to this part I didn't research any further lol. Is to call NVC ? Or am I suppose to wait it out..

Oh wow, I checked some timelines and you're right .... sigh , thought I had hope of having him here this Christmas.

At least March means his birthday and April means mine.

March or april ? Why so far ??

I was told January/Febuary

Well because the embassy is moving to a new building in january, and they are behind from the government shutdown.

Thats wierd...because they sent out a press release October 1st that the shut down would not interfere with the Consulate...

They just take very long! I don't know what it is....maybe short of staff...go figure.

I agree, it was said the shutdown wasn't going to interfere with any visa processing because we finance the whole thing.

I'm sure they are just being slow because the move doesn't affect th e interviews. While the other building is under construction and remodeling, they will continue to work at their original building. Its not like the officers interviewing are helping prepare the other building lol

Congrats

Thank you :)
