USCIS did eventually allocate more staff and resources toward DACA petitions. It did put people through the ringer for a few months, but it's the nature of the bureaucratic beast.

this administration seems hell bent on creating politically expedient policies without allocating adequate resources to support such policies.

All presidential administrations do that, albeit their agendas are different. The last administration threw us into 2 wars and worried about the money part later. Now look at our deficit.

It's still putting people through the ringer. What are you talking about "for a few months"? Have you seen the backlog in I-130s lately? Nature of the bureaucratic beast to put DACA petitions, which technically weren't even approved by Congress but just enabled by executive fiat at the president's orders, ahead of U.S. Citizens?? Have you seen the processing time for a spousal visa over in Europe or Japan? It's usually 1/6th the time of a spousal visa to come here. The system's a joke.

I'm talking about the CSC backlog that affected a lot of I-129Fs. At that point I-130 petitions were breezing through much faster, especially when they first started getting sent to Local offices for processing. There are constant fluctuations in petition processing times among the different petition categories. No singular group of people or policy is to blame, it's everything. Yes other countries have much better systems for spousal immigration, but this is the US. Our government thinks they are doing immigrants some HUGE favor and that they are all lucky just to be given the opportunity to apply. I wish I lived in Europe. I may go back to Russia at some point if my fiance can also manage to get a job there because we'll be waiting an awfully long haul. At least all of you can expect your petition to be approved. I'm the one who was told my petition was on hold indefinitely. Been waiting for my NOA2 for nearly a year and have no expectation of it coming any time soon.

I got my case transferred to my local office on Oct 24th. I was confused about it and called my lawyer. He told me that up until about 3 mths ago GREEN CARD HOLDERS filing a I-130 have the same benefit as USC so all those GREEN CARD HOLDER application that were filed before, are now current. That's enhancing USCIS workload so that's why they are transferring cases to local offices where there is more manpower to work on these cases. If this is true, i'm upset since I've been waiting for 7.5 mths now. Still holding the faith though...Wishing everyone the best.

SImple, not a USC. It can't be a free for all... There has to be limits set somewhere. Try being a USC IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY and being pushed aside because a greencard holder was processed before you.... Why does everyone think they can come here and take advantage? smh

and yes, I have STRONG opinions on illegals and greencard holders getting priority over USC's. I think many people share how I feel but just don't say anything

I totally agree with u! Every individual born in the country gets the first right there. That doesnt mean that LPRs shouldn't be processed faster or they should have limits to the number being processed but it's frustrating, outrageous, stupid and unfair from the govt part that they prioritize immigrants over born citizens. Whatever country we live in right now is our home land and we have right on it above everyone else. It's nice of the govt to pass such reforms but they should wake up and realize what torture they r putting their citizens in first before they start being so generous towards PRs! It's all about priority. Not the thought itself.

i am a USC and yes it makes me upset to see Green card holder files processing before mines.
