Everyone should take a walk over to the NumbersUSA page and send a fax to your representative against Immigration reform. USC's shoud be the United State's first priority.

Just sayin....

I feel like the system would have a bigger back log if they pass any of it......

Won't removing those limitations on LPR further strain a system that's already screwing USC petitioners?

Not only does this not help us, but like DOMA, it further splits attention, time and resources away from USCs petitioning for family members.

Typical rant ..!! One group vs another .....Instead of looking for and propagating a fix...protectionist turfism type of myopic mentality doesnt help solve any problem...!! Petition the Senators to solve your problem - dont start blaming others for your problem.

If thats teh mentality then one should blame every one who has a priority date later then him and getting approved ..for the delay caused.....!!!!protest6wz.gif

I strongly believe these mob type of myopic fractionaitised mentality doesnt solve any problem - It just propagates it...devil.gif !!!!

Having waited for excess of five years for my employment based green card and now waiting for my I-130 based petition while I am subject to the numerical limitation - to moving next year to becoming USC where I will have no cap - assuming USCIS is still not done with my petition ... I strongly believe these mob type of myopic fractionaitised mentality doesnt solve any problem - It just propagates it...!!!!

You have a right to have your own opinion...

But - I am not sure how anyone can justify that LPR's need to have numerical limitiations which means they have to be away from their spouses for several years till they become USC's whereas those on non-immigrant visas can bring their spouses the very next day...and fixing that problem is incorrect...!!

Also I agree that the timeline for USC's should be more streamlined...!!

SImple, not a USC. It can't be a free for all... There has to be limits set somewhere. Try being a USC IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY and being pushed aside because a greencard holder was processed before you.... Why does everyone think they can come here and take advantage? smh

and yes, I have STRONG opinions on illegals and greencard holders getting priority over USC's. I think many people share how I feel but just don't say anything

I dont think you understand how USCIS processes your application - USC's are processed exclusively at NBC and greencard, work visas, and all other visas and others are processed elsewhere .. and yes NBC's are clogged with chain migration... Better still bring factual numbers and validate your point..

For 2012. excess of around 400K visa were processed for different categories of USC's (excluding K visas) compared to around 70K or so for LPR's .... Get your facts right before making a broad based statement...!!!

And as far as comparing greencard holders with others is concerned - There is no connection...Anyways done with this ridiculous discussion..!!

Spouse is a Spouse no matter if you are married to an LPR or a U.S citizen. It is pretty dumb to consider a spouse of LPR as Alien relative whereas Spouse of US Citizen is an immediate relative. People who put LPR's(LEGAL Permanent Resident) and Illegals in the same bucket IMHO need to get their heads checked. :-)

I was just going to ask that myself. Well put.

Obviously I don't know the inner workings of government, but this administration seems hell bent on creating politically expedient policies without allocating adequate resources to support such policies. It's all fine and well to introduce immigration reform, but real reform happens when the boots on the ground redesign their methodologies to improve efficiency.

I really don't blame USCIS because they get more policy thrown at them without (it seems) the resources to administrate and support these "feel good" policies.

I think that is the reason why USCIS and NVC, as well as many other government agencies are currently and actively updating and developing their websites and online services, also currently going more automated than they ever were in the history of immigration--to be ready to face the influx of family immigration cases--to gain efficiency and effectiveness of those agencies as we progress towards this immigration reform.

A few years back, you cannot apply for an SSN as you apply for your visa. Now, processes are simplified and shortened. I think they see it coming and should be ready with all this adjustment in a year or two.

Change is painful--but given time, everybody will get adjusted to the new system. Everybody happy. Just thinking aloud.

So do you think USCs should have no preference or additional rights to get things done faster over Green Card Holders bringing their spouses here?

:|

DOMA repeal is helping more USC families reunite, families and couples who previously were denied their rights. If you want to be annoyed at better treatment for LPRs that's one thing but don't go admonishing steps toward equality for US citizens. no0pb.gif

Possibly, but if you've been on this site as long as me you'd see every few months it's someone else to blame: the Sudanese, the Haitians, DACA, DOMA, etc. all are "clogging" the system unfairly.
