Getting ready to submit our I-130 and I-485, but wanted to know if we must submit the 1-693 now, or if it can wait until the interview?

Timeline

We made the strategic decision to send in the I-485 without the medical exam because we couldn't get a doctor for at least 3 weeks without driving too far and because my wife's visa would expire close to that time and we make trips near the border areas. It slowed down our EAD by about 10 days and our interview by about 2 weeks. If I had to do it again, I would have started the process a lot earlier so that we could have done the medical at the same time.
