My Sweet Puppy...

My sweet baby dog has been sick for a few weeks. Finally this morning mom took him to the vet. He's on his way to the emergency veterinary hospital because he has a mass in his neck. They have to do an ultrasound on it. I have a feeling Willie's not going to be here for Christmas with us.

I'm so sorry! I don't know what I would do if something happened to my Daisy. I know how upset you must be and I will be keeping you and Willie in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure he'll be just fine.

I wish for the best outcome for you lil pup. I would do everything i can for my pups if one was hurt or ill... Hang in there.. think positive.. .. at least he is with the specialists that can handle the situation..

Poor Willie. It's just the saddest thing when animals get ill. You just wish they could tell you what the matter is...

That happened to our black lab, Gretchen. All of a sudden, a mass appeared on her neck. It was diagnosed as malignant melanoma. We were able to keep her comfortable and happy for a year after the diagnosis. She was 14 when she died.

Willie was my gift for my 15th birthday. He has been my first and only dog. I knew he wouldn't live forever, but I wasn't prepared for anything to ever happen to him. I don't feel optimistic but I'm still hoping for the best. I also don't know how far my parents are going to be willing to go for him. Unfortunately, that's all in their hands and there's nothing I can do to help. Willie's not much of a lap dog (by his choice) but I would love to be there with him to cuddle him and make him feel safe. Thanks for that info, Jen. The strange thing about this is that whatever it is in internal instead of external. If he hadn't had the physical symptoms (snorting, difficulty breathing, etc) we would never have known anything was wrong.

Willie has lymphoma. We will be putting him down in a matter of days or weeks.

I am SO sorry. This is just the hardest thing in the world, and the one part that totally sucks about being a pet owner. :(
