This is a strange case, no motive at all yet. There have been reports on the local news here that a box cutter was used in the attack. My thinking is there were some extra curricular interaction between the two.

It could be any number of reasons.

Self preservation is a huge motive to kill.

Maybe he tried to rape her or just sexually assault her and then he took it to another level to conceal his crime (the body was perhaps moved to the wooded area.)

Here is another fresh case that popped up with no real motive, in fact I thought it was the same one at first.

Mental illness is very apparent. Isn't this the second case of a young kid killing one of his teachers this week? My husband definitely does not get paid enough.

Motive is for sure already established, but we won't hear much about it on the news until trial. A lot of my friends from college became teachers and settled in the Boston Metro area. We all feel this loss. Good teachers are truly our nation's greatest asset and treasure.

How could you think this was the same thing? The ages are completely different, the circumstances are not even close, and this isn't even in the same state.

Thats reasonable.

I would like to see a study done on such cases and connecting similarities, to see if there are some unusual commonality between such unexpected out bursts.
