Does anyone know about how long it takes to get thru Charlotte, NC customs as POE? I booked my fiance's flight but was only able to get 1h and 18min layover... i'm afraid that will be way to short!! Anyone have a clue?? Much appreciated!!

No one can answer this with any accuracy how long will take, It depends on how many people are attempting to get through immigration at the same time. But I will say, even for someone who doesn't need to go through immigration and customs, an hour is cutting it close. For a new immigrant, an hour is not enough time to get off the plane, go through immigration AND customs, recheck the luggage and get on a connecting flight.

that will be too close, barely 78 minutes layover. hopefully everything will go smooth and your fiance will be first in line. but that will be too close. some here would suggest atleast 2-3 hrs to go through immigration and customs. best of luck. hopefully there will be another flight available just incase your fiance will miss the connecting flight.

Call the airline and have them adjust the routes so fiance(e) can have a good 3-4 hours of layover before the next flight, I live in Alaska, so my port of entry everytime I've flew to another country has always been San Fransico CA_ I usually get 1hr-30min of lay over before my next flight and sometimes I barely make it to the next flight just because of how busy it is and having to go through security again.

I would say a three hour layover is safe. Time through CBP vary acccording to number of flights arriving at the same time. Remember how long it takes you to get through, and then add an hour.

This is true. My hubby POE'd through Charlotte. He left on a 12:30 flight arrived in Charlotte and said the immigration process took about 1hr and half - that didn't count getting his bag and going through customs and then TSA -he had to connect to another flight. I would say call the airline and get him a flight with a longer layover, you may have to pay the change fee and difference but better now then on the day he arrives.
