Hello,

This post is to give folks a sense of how the interview went for my fiance in South Africa. To cut to the chase, the visa was approved and it's terribly exciting and a huge relief!! :) My life literally changed this morning when she called to say the interview went well and the visa was approved. By the grace of God we will be together very soon.

The interview lasted about an hour. All documents were in order, every single one. We prepared the documents based upon VJ suggestions. I STRONGLY encourage you to use VJ and take your time to make sure you do exactly as is suggested. We were very careful, deliberate, and honest.....and it made things simple. The focus of the interview questions were related to the authenticity of our relationship. My fiance said that it was not a scary or interrogative experience, though there were some odd questions. There were the expected questions.....where'd we meet, where will we live, what will you do in the states. Then there were odd questions like....how many windows are in my bedroom, where is the bathroom located in my apartment, what colors sheets do I have on my bed, what's my favorite brand of beer, what color are the walls in my apartment. The interviewer couldn't possibly know the answers to these questions....but seemed more so interested in how aptly my fiance could answer the questions. My fiance said it was a very slow day at the embassy, and the interviewer seemed to have ample time for random questions. Ultimately, it seemed the interviewer wanted to know how well she knew me. We lived together in my apartment in the states, so the questions were easy for her, but odd nonetheless.

It's very surreal to me at the moment, I didn't sleep well and am in a bit of a fog. I want to thank all of you at VJ for your support and wisdom.....and I wish you all the best of luck in your journey. My fiance will arrive on Christmas day. :) I'll post an update as I get more information.

Rob
