I was curious as to whether this is possible at the US Embassy in Colombia. Is there a way to find this out? Also, is there any way to waive the any residency requirement to file directly? Thanks!!!

9-21-06: express I-129F to CSC

9-22-06: signed for at CSC

9-25-06: check cashed

9-26-06 NOA1

9-26-06: Touched

9-30-06: NOA1 received

12-14-06: Touched

12-14-06: NOA2 (said approved and mailed on December 13, 2006)

12-16-06: Received hard copy of NOA2 via snail mail

12-25-06: NVC receives petition approval

12-27-06: Forwarded to Embassy

01-06-07 Called Embassy and received interview date of January 19, 2007.

01-19-07 Visa approved (I flew down for interview)

01-23-07 Flew back to Las Vegas

01-27-07 Married

04-12-07 Overnighted AOS

You can do DCF in Columbia..

They do have a residency requirement...

No.. it cannot be waived...

U.S. citizens resident in the U.S. must file Immigrant Visa petitions in the U.S. with the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services office having jurisdiction over their place of residence. All immigrant visa petitions for parents, brothers and sisters, and children over 21 years of age must be filed in the U.S. with the DHS. A U.S. citizen who is a legal resident of Colombia, and currently completed at least six months continuous presence in the country, may petition at the Embassy for the spouse, unmarried children (under the age of 21) and stepchildren

Stinger.....No such luck...unless you can prove that you've lived in Colombia for the past 6 months!!! Gotta love our laws!!!

2/21/07 - Contacted Senator Saxby Chambliss GA for Assitance

7/23/07 - 3rd Interview - Visa Approved!!!!!!!

11/13/07 - POE - JFK

2/7/08 - AOS Officially In Mail _ Overnight Mail to Chicgo

2/8/08 - Recieved in Chicago

2/14/08 - NOA1 Recieved

3/11/08 - Biometrics Appointment

4/11/08 - Recv'd Email - EAD Approved, Card Production Ordered

4/15/08 - Recv'd EAD Card, Applied for SS Card

4/21/08 - Recv'd SS Card

4/20/09 - Interview Date

6/12/09 - AOS Approved

7/25/09 - Received Green Card in Mail

4/23/11 - 2nd Interview - Approved Lifted Conditions

12/13/2012 - Naturalization Ceremony (FINALLY OVER)

1/29/07: NOA1

4/27/07: NOA2

5/01/07: NOA2 Hardcopy received

5/10/07: Approval arrives at NVC

5/14/07: Leaves NVC

5/17/07: Arrives at Bogota, Colombia

5/18/07: Packet 3 faxed to Embassy

5/22/07: Packet 3 sent via courier

5/30/07: Wendy receives packet 3 (Good thing we used the shortcut)

6/04/07: Packet 4 received

7/03/07: Medical appt. scheduled

7/05/07: Interview!!!! VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!

7/09/07: Visa in hand!!!

7/11/07: Point of Entry at LAX, complete success!!!!!!!!!!

7/24/07: Married!!!

AOS & EAD

07/27/07: Filed for AOS & EAD

08/02/07: Arrives at Chicago

09/10/07: NOA1

09/11/07: Social Security card in hand

10/12/07: Biometrics appointment

10/25/07: EAD Approved

01/23/08: Interview = APPROVED

02/02/08: Green Card received...10 day turn around, not bad!!!

Removing Conditions

11/12/09: Mailed to CSC!

11/13/09: Arrives at CSC!

11/16/09: NOA1

11/18/09: Check Cashed!

12/14/09: Biometrics

01/07/10: Card Production Ordered (APPROVED)
