Process / Letter from US Embassy ( Hyderabad ) for Marriage Registration

Hi All -

I am posting the question on behalf of my friend, who is planning to take the CR1 Route after marriage.

Groom : Naturalized US Citizen

Bribe : Indian citizen

Wedding : Religious Ceremony ( with families and relatives from both families ) .

Process of getting marriage registered, One of the documents requested is to get a letter from the embassy saying that he met the girl and is planning to get married. ( More like a no objection certificate ).

US Consulate in India : Hyderabad

Has anyone gone through the same ? Any format that anyone has that i can forward him to get notarized , request to PM me , would be greatly appreciated.

This seems like a spousal affidavit. Please see an attachment for Spousal Affidavit template. But make sure with consulate is what exactly they required??

You can edit this and make sure you get notarized on 50 Rs India Non judical stamp paper.

I had to go to the embassy (closest was Delhi) just to get that "no objection" letter notarized. you'll need to make an embassy appointment before hand, which you can do online. notarized "no objection" will be $50, they take USD and US credit cards

we got married in Pune and had a court marriage first (at noon) followed by temple ceremony in the evening. I did not have to submit any no objection certificate and nothing from the embassy/ consulate at all? I am the USC and my husband is Indian Citizen. its possible every office is a little different. are you using the special marriage act or hindu marriage act? We did our court marriage under special marriage act and then just had a temple ceremony with pheras later that day.
