Good morning and I hope you are all well. Here I am asking what may sound stupid but not sure what to do again....!!!! So I have sent off form DS2001 with cover letter and await directions from Embassy if I understand the US Embassy website deatails correctly right? My only other worry is this.....I have all forms, photocpoies and pictures needed however, when my fiance sent the Aff Of Support back to me, the envelope made a little hole in the paper! GRRRRRR!! Told him to be careful!! So do you think I should just print him a complete a new one? Will the interview folks think its fake or something? I would hate to get this far and a tiny deatail hold us up again! I'm just back in the game after health worries so don't need any more hold ups!

Thanks guys! Always such great support! Have a good day. :)

I think it is fine. They are very nice in London and aren't looking for ways to catch you out. They want you to succeed.

Did you do 160? I spoke to DoS today and she stressed doing the *newest* forms even if our stuff had been sent before changes made. Even though we've sent in everything twice the email from London states they haven't received it all.. so doing more now. I'd hate for anyone to lose more time over not having one extra form done.

1/31/13 - 129F Sent
2/7/13 - NOA1
** transferred with 2nd group from VSC to TSC in late June
7/9/13 - NOA2 (5 months)
8/16/13 - Shipped from TSC
9/11/13 - Packet 3
9/19/13 - Forms sent in.
9/24/13 - Medical Done
9/27/13 - CEAC Status Update
10/02/13 - DS-260 mailed in
10/15/13 - CEAC Status Update (DoS couldn't say what triggered it, did say no interview assigned, but all docs are in)
10/23/13 - Embassy email states they do not have our documents. Poor Steven does 160 again.
10/23/13 - DoS says our case is still "processing" and not "qualified" (interview ready) and to do newest forms.
11/05/13 - CEAC Update. DoS says case is "eligible for interview" and we're waiting on next interview date.
11/08/13 - Another call to DoS (Chris is a nice guy!) and no interview scheduled yet.
11/12/13 - Another call to DoS and no interview scheduled yet.
11/13/13 - Email from Embassy to Steven informing him that his interview is TOMORROW.
Hurray for Patron Saint of Immigrants - Mother Cabrini's Feast Day!
11/14/13 - INTERVIEW --- APPROVED!!!!!
11/19 & 11/20 - CEAC date update, but still at "Ready".
11/21 - CEAC Creation Date & Notice Changed.
11/22 - CEAC AP
11/25 - CEAC ISSUED -- yay!!
11/27 - DoS Shipment Notice (email) in AM. Pickup ready email sent in PM.
11/28 - Steven picks up docs from Bridgend - Happy Thanksgiving!
12/15/13 - Arrival in US. POE: JFK. (Heathrow - JKF - Richmond, VA by evening)

Oooh no I didn't! I sent them through at the start. I sent cover letter and DS2001 only!!! Oh no :/

Could you fill out your timeline so we know dates past NOA2?

What did you mail. When? When was the medical? If your forms were mailed, they will process them.

I mailed a bunch of them back in april that I'm sure contained the other form people keep talking about. I only have my part two along with photocopies, photgraphs, Aff of support left over. So I sent DS2001 with only a cover letter. That was posted on monday.

My medical was on july 2nd. I had bad news at medical but all clear now so back onto the visa. Will update my timeline.

I'd suggest calling and getting the info for yourself. Or use the form to contact the embassy. Who knows? They may give all of us different answers. Since London has been so slow lately I figure making it as easy as possible (latest forms) makes sense in my case.. especially after my chat this morning with DoS! This process is definitely ever-changing!

You will need a new letter of intent notarized, from your US fiance to take to your interview because the petition approval is expired now. That will revalidate it.

Since the readiness form is the final piece, your clock really starts now, not when the first forms were mailed. Some have waited 6-7 weeks after the last piece was in to hear about an interview. I'd give it time to go through processing....maybe 6 weeks. I believe they are saying 30 to 60 days to get your file recognized and an Interview assigned. Sorry you had the medical thing that interrupted your plans.

The problem I envision with submitting paper DS-230, 156, 156K, 157, then not giving enough time and submitting online DS-260, then DS-160 is you will have applied three times. What if they are mixed up and are three files, but only one has a medical with it and a different one has the readiness but no medical. Maybe I distrust government software after after personally struggling with that poorly written Obamacare marketplace website. I guess I don't feel confident they would keep it straight. And I could be totally wrong. Your choice. But getting the readiness form in means you finally have completed the required steps to be eligible for an interview. Good luck!

Brilliant! Will get him to send me another letter of intent. Its such a ugly, long and stessful business. Find it hard to stay on top of it all! Maybe I will just complete the online form to be safe. I here what your saying though about not trusting! I'd hate to do something and cause even more hold ups! I just want to be back with my fiance. I honestly thought we would have been married by now but thanks to my medical that didn't happen! Ahhh well guys......we have all been through this. Thanks again all. X

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the UK regional subforum -- country-specific topic involves the Embassy phase. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I was on the cusp of the change to DS-260 (packet 3 letter dated Aug 30), but ended up only sending the original bunch of forms (DS-230, 156, 156K, 157). I sent a message to the embassy a couple of weeks ago asking them to confirm that they didn't require any further paperwork from me, and got the following reply:

'We confirm receipt of the forms and your application is being processed. As soon as the Immigrant Visa Unit is able to take further action in your case and schedule the appointment, you will be notified. As processing varies in each individual case, we are unable to provide a timeframe for this.'

So I'm taking that to mean I don't have to do the DS-160. I don't want to confuse things. Besides, once the packet 3 forms are sent in most people wouldn't ever go on that webpage again, so wouldn't have any idea about the DS-160.
