Timeline

This is officially our 13th week in AP - emailed the embassy and this is their response (Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, the administrative processing is not yet finished and we cannot predict the time period necessary to complete the review. We realize this extended time period may cause frustration, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is often to reunite families. Nonetheless Embassy Kingston, like all U.S. embassies and consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. Please be assured we will do all we can to see that the visas are adjudicated as soon as the administrative processing of the applications has been completed) - wondering whats next as this info isn't conclusive.

Unfortunately nothing can be done about it. These procedures were introduced by the PATRIOT Act following 9/11; AP is essentially checking that the beneficiary is not a terrorist and has no links to terrorism.

There isn't much that could be done.... other than drive yourself insane. I am advocate for congressional intervention. I mean all they could do is submit an inquiry on your behalf. If you application is truely done with AP and waiting for final processing then the inquiry could prompt your application to be moved along. Our congress office submitted an inquiry via NVC, which at first I thought was weird but then remembered reading that NVC would do some preliminary checks (i.e if name came up in terror databases)-just my theory but it made sense to me.

I'm sure alot has to do with all the process changes and government issues. Not exactly what anyone wants to hear. If you haven't tried using congress/senator, i would give it a shot...you never know.
