Financial Support & I-134

My interview is set for Oct 29th and I was wondering if anyone knows the income requirements for financial support... I can't find the link anywhere, maybe because im so damn tired cause i didnt sleep, i dont know... but my fiance is military so am i right in thinking the income requirement is lower? He also only just enlisted in the us army so he has no tax transcripts so im taking his LES's and the military pay chart.

hey, the guidelines since your fiance is military is 100% above the poverty line, but he needs last years tax return, not only LES, i think ya might need to find a co sponsor

He doesn't have any, hes 20 and this is his first job. We have no co-sponsor. My father is UK military and they screwed him over and so he was made bankrupt. My mother is a full time carer for my brother, and my fiance's parents are both retired.

Doesn't have to be a family member. A joint sponsor just needs to be over 18, USC/LPR and living in the USA.

So let me get this straight, because he has no tax transcript because he didn't work before the U.S Army because he was still in high school, we have to find a co-sponsor?

even tho he is young he will as lost as sea says, to find someone who is willing to act as a co sponsor, friends other relatives. w2 is important

No matter his job history, a person bringing a family member to the USA must be able to financially sponsor them (I-134 for the K1, then once married, you'll file the I-864 with your adjustment of status), and if not, have a joint sponsor who is willing to do so. Military folks get to work against the lower value (100% instead of 125%).

If you have evidence of his income, it'll be fine in London. London doesn't need to see tax transcripts for the I-134.

We won't be able to get a co sponsor, he's only just been stationed at Fort Benning and doesn't have any friends that he knows well enough that will do something like that for him yet.

Edit: I went through his recent LES's and worked it out, he will be bringing in MORE than the 100% poverty guidelines, so I don't see why we'd need a co sponsor.

you have to do impossible, without that kind of proof your visa can be denied based on not sufficient income . he needs to make some calls to everyone he knows

If you have evidence that he earns the 100% poverty guideline to show to London (whatever they provide to him, London doesn't *need* tax transcripts for the I-134), then that'll be fine. K1 people in the UK just show pay stubs and an employment letter all the time, so that sort of thing is fine. Make sure you've evidenced he's enlisted and whatever paperwork you have to show what his earnings are.

If he doesn't at all make the required amount, then you may be in a pickle.

remember you need the affidavit, w2 form and last year transcripts those are the requirements

Not for the I-134 for London. London has a more relaxed attitude to the I-134 than most consulates.

He will be getting promoted in the next week or so his earnings increase, and since we are living on-post we will receive an extra $1230 BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) per month. He also wrote a letter explaining why he has no tax transcripts. I hope this will be enough.

You don't need a joint sponsor. You don't need a transcript for an I -134 in London. Anything that proves income will do. no need for a letter concerning the tax return.

For adjustment of status, the same proofs will do. For the I-864 they require the latest tax transcript and numbers off the previous three or the reason he was not required to file a tax return. He has a reason. He had no job prior to 2013, and no income. He includes a statement where the tax return would normally go behind the form. Then he provides evidence of his current earnings.
