Hi everyone,

You might remember that Joan and I filed for AOS using a temporary certificate of marriage because the State of Hawaii takes so long to release the official document (BTW, it is MUCH faster if your officiant files the license online). We chose to do this rather than to go out of status (we know it doesn't really matter but we wanted to file within the 90 day window (K1 visa) and were expecting an RFE. I just checked our status online and it read:

Testing and Interview

Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Does this mean no RFE?

Naturalization Interview 2/22/17 APPROVED!

Oath Ceremony 3/21/17--Joan is a US Citizen!

Dual Citizenship 7/7/22 Joan is now a Dual US/Filipino Citizen!

I believe you're in the clear for now. I have had my EAD card mailed to me and my greencard interview scheduled for October 28th with no RFEs. Just keep in mind they can always request something from you at the interview, but otherwise you're good to go (so far)!

Adjustment of Status after Marriage:

April 19, 2012 - Arrived in the USA on TN status working as a biologist

May 11, 2013 - Married USC

August 7, 2013 - Mailed AOS package (I-765, I-131, I485, I-130)

August 9, 2013 - Package received by USCIS

August 14, 2013 - NOA received for all 4 forms and checks cashed

Septemeber 11, 2013 - Biometrics Appointment

September 20, 2013 - I-485 Status changed to testing and interview

September 25, 2013 - Notification that interview has been scheduled for October 28, 2013

October 4, 2013 - Notification that I-131 has been approved!!!!

October 4, 2013 - Birthday updated on Form I-765

October 16, 2013 - I-765 EAD card in production!!!!

October 21, 2013 - I765- EAD and I-131 card has been mailed!

October 23, 2013 - EAD and AP combo card received and in hand!

October 28, 2013 - Greencard interview PASSED! Given an approved decision and told my greencard will be in the mail within 60 days!!!

November 6, 2013 - Conditional Greencard received in the mail and in hand at last!!!

Thanks! We sure hope so! We have all the documents for the interview so that would be OK...actually we now have too many certified copies of the certificate!
