Biometrics done without letter

Hello,

My NOA1 for I-485 / I-765 was dated December 1st. After not receiving biometrics letter I called in the toll free number. The guy was polite and told me that if you haven't received the letter, just go to the ASC and get your biometrics done. I went to the ASC and told them that I haven't received the appointment and the guy told me on the phone that i cud walk in. He told me that we can't do it without appt for which he referred me to Santa Ana office. They did give me a appointment and I went back to the ASC and got my biometrics done. Later in the day when I checked my mail, i found appointment letter from USCIS. Appointment was supposed to be on 15th of December. Now my questions are:

1. Do I have to go to the ASC again for another biometrics on the scheduled date or this is done?

2. What next? an interview letter? When can i expect it?

It's a very unusual situation indeed.

One thing I can tell you for sure - go and do your FP for the second time. Definitely go. Do not miss the scheduled appointment, even though you've already done the FP.

And I wish I could have done the same thing you did, but all my 1-800 number calls and Infopass appointmets were in vain - they wouldn't give me a FP notice, they wouldn't tell me to go walk in... All they keep telling me is to wait.

I don't know about the letter. My letter came alright, less than 2 months after my notice date, without any biometrics whatsoever. Interviews are normally scheduled 3-6 months after you file.

I know it is easy to get antsy during this process... but seriously you are going to have to have some patience... your interview will happen when it happens.. there is no hard fast way to tell other than going by the misinformation on the USCIS website about processing times.

Some people wait for a short amount of time, some people wait over 6 months or longer.

i read an example Biometrics letter posted on VJ and it even says on the letter to not show up earlier than 15 minutes of your appointment time. i mean, if they are such a stickler on that i can definitely understand why they won't give you your Biometrics without a letter of appointment.

with an NOA1 of Dec. 1st... a Dec 15 appointment is not that bad at all.

Well, I already have my biometrics done on the 13th. I have the ASC appointment for the 15th. I am not being impatient. I am in States with my wife, working, whats there to be impatient about. I just wanted to have an idea that when I should start panicking that my interview letter didn't come. I am very relaxed in this procedure. I hope it goes well for everyone. I am sure there are more people with much more urgency. Thanks Guyz.

You got lucky about the biometrics. Don't think you can do that with the interview appointment. Just wait.
