Hi everybody.

I will enter the US soon inch Allah, i have some questions, please help, your help is much appreciated

1. What do i need to have and carry during my port of entry In addition to my yellow envelope and my passport (visa)?

2. Can i (Beneficiary) enter the US by myself without my US petitioner husband?

I've never travelled abroad by myself and I've never rode a plane before, do you think i can do it this time? What about the language! It can be obstacle to success the communication between me and the customs offices? - my husband like to be with me at my port of entry , when he will come to my country he will need to leave earlier to US (with me) but I need some more time to do some stuffs then I can join him and enter the US -

3. I will update the address where i want my green card /SSC mailed at my port of entry! In this case will I just give the costumes offices the new address? Right? Or do I need to ask for another person at the airport to talk with about my new address? No form to complete or to sign or to be signed by my US spouse?

4. Is there any port of entry recommended to choice and to be in Rather than the other?

Thank you,

I can't say about what ports are better then other, but yes you should only need your envelope and passport for the POE. .

You can travel on your own, if language is a problem they should be able to get an interpreter. You can update your address when they process your papers.

Thank you,

1. Yes, enevelope (unopened) and valid passport with visa is all you need.

2. Yes, no restriction there.

3. I have no idea about that, sorry. You may have to ask the Immigration officers at the Port of Entry. Though it sounds like Ontarkie answered this one.

4. I'd say go with the POE that is the most convenient for you and don't worry too much about that. If you are catching a connecting flight from your first POE to your final destination, allow a minimum of 2 hours of connection time, ideally more like 3-4 hours. When I first arrived at my POE, everything went smoothly but VERY slowly. There was a huge line of other first time immigrants ahead of me and I had to wait over 1.5 hours for my paperwork to be processed at POE, but lucky for me, my POE was also my final destination, so I didn't have to worry about catching another flight. If you are really worried about POEs though, try browsing the "Review: Embassy/USCIS & POE" section on the menu at the top of the page here on VJ. That should give you an idea of people's experiences. The only POEs I've had personal experience with are Los Angeles International (LAX) and Philadelphia Airports, and they were both fine.

Have a good trip!
