My fiance and I are in the middle of filing for his K-1 visa (He's Canadian, I'm Californian), and he finally recieved the letter saying our case would be forwarded to the Montreal Consulate at the end of September. They sent him a letter in the beginning of October telling him to register online. He didn't mention the need to do anything else, but it's sounding like we should be sending in our Package 3 forms, judging by what I'm reading from everybody else. Is this correct? Do I need to send him my I-134, or does he just bring that to the interview? I plan on attending his interview, so I was just going to bring it with me then, but I don't want our case to be put even further behind by not sending it. If I am correct, he just needs to send in DS-130, DS-156, DS-156K, a confirmation copy of DS-160, two photographs, and a photocopy of his passport. Do we need to wait for further instructions from the consulate, or should we already be sending everything?

I apologize for the wall of text, but we're both a little stressed about all this. Thank you for the possible help!

I am a Canadian & moving to California as well. We are in similar scenario that our file just reached the Consulate from NVC. We know we need to send in Packet 3 forms. But we were told that we will get an email from MTL about Packet 3.

Did the Consulate send the US Citizen or Canadian any letter or email regarding next step?

No, I have not recieved anything from MTL at all. The online portal mentioned filing for courier services, which the documents will be sent by.

Should we be sending in the packet 3 forms now or waiting for further notice? I feel like it wouldn't hurt to send in the forms now, but I also don't want to risk them getting lost. At the very least, we plan on filling them all out ASAP.

Sounds like he missed some important steps:

Help him fill it out and get it sent in. Include a note to reply via email (with address) for packet 4.

As soon as you know the consolidate has your case and has sent packet 3, you can send packet 3 to them. Packet 3 can take forever or never to come! I never got it. Never got an email or anything in the mail, neither did my fiance. You can read the guides at the top of the Canada forum on what to do. Packet 3 is all available online.

11/09/2016 - i-751 sent

11/14/2016 - NOA1

12/08/2016 - Biometrics

06/04/2018 - i-751 approved

Just as kc247 said, Packet 3 may never come. But as long as you know the consulate has "supposedly" sent Packet 3 off, you can go ahead assembling it yourselves and sending it off whenever ready. I'm sure you've probably seen this Montreal thread by now, but in case you haven't-- it's been a God-send for my fiancee and I.

Though I'm seeing some broken links in that thread.. Here's a link to the Montreal Consulate. Packet 3 and Packet 4 documents can be found in the top right hand column.
