It doesn't say it is different, either, mate.

There are many references in that story that point to it not being the same test, there are none that say it will be. A simple read between the lines is all it takes.

Teddy, I used to be a lifeguard. There are a quite a few tests you have to pass in order to become one. They're not saying swim down and back, now you're a lifeguard.

I used to be a lifeguard too Marvin, in my early teens. Until we do know exactly what the test does include, you are merely speculating. But I am willing to wager that it's not the same lifeguard test that had always been in place.

I disagree with you both. If it were to be the same Lifeguard test that had previously been in place, it would say so.

So because it doesn't come out and say it's the exact same test, it obviously is different and a lower standard?

Based on the references in the story that imply that, in my opinion, yes. I could be wrong, but until I see otherwise, that's what I take from it.

I must be missing those implications.

Possibly, or maybe I'm reading too much into them. But that's usually how a program like this works. In order to make the job open to a larger pool of candidates, the standards are usually lowered.

Or it could mean there wasn't such test in place. Meaning these folks will have to pass something in addition to the regular standards.

please help reassure danno that it is still socially acceptable for middle aged married men to grind their genitals against fresh pretty young things that don't know any better, so long as said grinding is done in the name of artistic pursuit.

Here's my numbers:

According to the 2010 Census, 1,327,407 people resided in the city proper of San Antonio, an increase of 16.0% since 2000.

The racial composition of the city based on the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau is as follows:[33]

In addition, 63.2% of the city's population was of Hispanic or Latino origin, of any race.

I think living here is what has moved me more towards an "English only" stance; but again, I feel there can be exceptions. Private business and emergency situations come to mind.

Out of curiosity, what are your numbers?

I moved to Charlotte twenty some years ago, the city just turned less than half white a few years back. NC has had the largest increase of Hispanics of any state.

But like most areas, people of certain races gravitate towards certain areas. We have also had a huge surge of people from everywhere, it is both interesting but concerning too as there seems to be no end to it.

Forgive me not wanting to live in the "United nations."

This country had a pretty steady racial mix for centuries, I would prefer we stayed within that model.

Since 1964, the rules on immigration have transformed the country in just a few decades.

how would moving help me live up to what i preach? who picks where they live based on the racial makeup of the town, i mean, besides racists?

i do like living here. your numbers on what? do you honestly think that the racial makeup of the city you live in has anything to do with stereotypical and/or racist attititudes?

there are minorities in boyce, the imperative question would be how they are included and represented in our neighborhoods, schools, and jobs?

Hey, I don't blame you for exercising the right of "association" I simply pointed out you strongly believe in something..... for other people.

Heck your area is not even close the state-wide diversity.

English 10.7% Hispanic or Latino (of any race) 8.4%
