I didn't deny the story to be true. I asked for another source for the story. Two different things, but I don't expect you to actually pay attention to what I'm saying - never have, never will, it all goes through your sensationalism filter and comes out warped in the end.

The majority of the kids in this pool are minorities who don't speak English as a first language. So now you're upset that they're hiring lifeguards who are minorities who don't speak English as their first language? Why?

Are they firing all the white folk? No white people allowed at the pool? Are qualified white people who know Spanish being turned away for unqualified black people?

I also didn't say these kids don't speak English. I said the majority of the kids IN THIS POOL likely don't speak English as a FIRST LANGUAGE.

Just read the NPR article. I think it's really great that the city is willing to train kids to be lifeguards, where they may not otherwise get the opportunity. Nowhere does it mention affirmative action or NOT hiring qualified white lifeguards as it seems they already have enough qualified white lifeguards. It makes sense to me, that if there is a 90% black/hispanic population in the school, they may want to hire a few lifeguards who speak spanish. Nowhere does it mention that they hire UNQUALIFIED lifeguards, it clearly states that they are trained first and must pass a test.

Mr. conciliator, sometimes you seem to be very rational, but in this case you appear to not be reading carefully or just wanting to be proving the point of the FOX news piece just out of pure spite, because you don't want to admit that maybe the facts were skewed.
